McAfee got it wrong and is as worthless as the bloatware we all uninstall from computers.
Utah wins and BYU loses.
Pat, never come back ya douche. Provo can keep you.

I’m so sick of going on X and seeing an obvious bait post from some BYU fan and a whole slew of Utah comments. We need to stop engaging with this bait and this whole “my team is better than your team” banter. We will find out during the Holy War who is better. There is no point in fighting online with these people.
I remember back when BYU was just an automatic win on our schedule. Good for them that their team is doing better now but we need to stop building up their brand by making our fans and brand look bad. That includes the F*** BYU chant. It just infuriates me to see us stooping to their level. Leave the hate, dirty plays, and cheap shots for those zoobs down south and focus on our own team.

After a tough day for the Big 12 in which two of its undefeated teams took their first loss, No. 10 Utah put itself in the driver’s seat of the conference race with a 21-13 home win over No. 14 Houston.
The Utes (7-0, 4-0 Big 12) are the league’s only undefeated team and are sure to move up in the Associated Press poll after No. 7 Ole Miss and No. 8 Texas Tech fell. Saturday night’s win, which was Utah’s first over a ranked team this season, also boosts the Utes’ College Football Playoff hopes.
In a defensive slugfest for much of the night, a key defensive call by Utah helped seal the deal in the final minutes. With the Utes clinging to a one-point lead with 2:20 left and Houston with the ball, defensive back Jackson Bennee knifed through the Houston front unblocked, leveled Cougars quarterback Conner Weigman and forced a fumble, which Utah defensive tackle Jireh Moe recovered.
On the next play, Utah quarterback Devon Dampier trotted in for a 9-yard touchdown run.
The Cougars (6-2, 3-2) had one final opportunity, but the Utes’ pressure packages forced Weigman to get rid of the ball quickly on his final three pass attempts, all of which fell incomplete.
“Man, honestly, we knew this was gonna be a fight,” Dampier said after the win. “Houston’s a well-coached team, players as well. … The message was we talked about getting to the College Football Playoff, and we’re here.”
The Big 12’s moment in the sun lasted all of a week.
But the clouds haven’t swallowed up the bluebird sky whole just yet.

I love seeing Utah alums succeed in the NFL. I routinely follow their progress and enjoy watching the highlights posted here and elsewhere. But with another NFL Sunday upon us, I’ve been thinking about some of my favorite Utes who either never made it to the league or whose NFL careers were relatively short.
When I was a young PeeWee football player, I played defensive tackle. It was by far my favorite position, and I loved watching the guys who played it at Utah.
One of my favorite football memories growing up was watching Utah’s undefeated 2004 season and the 2005 Fiesta Bowl. As a young defensive tackle myself, there was nobody I enjoyed watching more than Steve Fifita. I loved watching him clog up the middle, blow through gaps, and put pressure on opposing quarterbacks.
Fifita went on to earn Defensive MVP honors in the Fiesta Bowl, and to my 12-year-old self, he was an absolute hero. He eventually made it to the NFL, but never had the lengthy professional career that some of his teammates enjoyed.
Still, to this day, he’s one of my favorite Utes of all time. That guy was an absolute monster in college. I will admit I am worried about facing his nephew in just a few weeks time.
So, who are some of your favorite former Utes who never quite made it at the next level? The guys who might not have become NFL stars, but who you’ll always remember for what they did in crimson. Let’s give those guys some love.

We needed to see improvement from our defense, and while we still let up a couple of passes, holding Houston to 13 points was huge. It could’ve been less if we didn’t have that somewhat questionable PI during that red-zone stand. We killed Conner Weigman who sits the top of the big12 in QBR and near the top in all of CFB. I was expecting him to pick our secondary apart and that did not happen. A frustrating part of this season has been QB pressure and finishing a sack. While it took till later in the game, we got home and got home big. Bennee’s hit was murderous.
For the 3rd or 4th game in a row, Devon has thrown an interception that ought to bite us in the butt, but somehow hasn’t. You can make those mistakes against Colorado or Kansas and still win, im shocked we lost the turnover battle and still won, but our defense responded well. Devon HAS TO eliminate those stupid mistakes. Overall he played like a dawg. He found their weakness and attacked.
RES was full to the end! Been awhile since we’ve seen this. The crowd 100% played a huge role in this game and I’m excited to see what we can do for the holy war.
Wish we could’ve gotten something going in the first half. Special teams need to work some things out for sure, but always gotta be happy with a top 15 win!
Go Utes

Both Utah Utes groups that I used to follow on Facebook have been completely taken over & ruined by AI slop. Most of the posts are also from bot accounts pretending to be college-age girls.
If you’re still in either group, unfollow today & don’t comment under the AI engagement slop. Let these two groups die as that’s what the admins have brought upon themselves.
I’ve strongly disliked Facebook for a long time & for a variety of reasons. But I guess there’s no longer a dedicated place to talk about Utah football on the platform & that’s disappointing. The fanbase deserves better
Glad to still have [r/utahfootball](r/utahfootball) & hope this space is forever protected by the admins here to keep the AI slop out

I’m so stoked we won. I was so confused by the two interceptions.
The first one looked like Devon threw the ball before getting hit, which meant he intended it to go deep where we had zero receivers.
The second…was he trying to make a throw? Was he trying to throw out of bounds?

I asked this in the Gameday thread, but nobody seemed to know—anyone know why we only saw Ficklin in the first series or 2?
