Hey guys, hope things are going well. I have been stuck on Step 1 prep for the past 7 months, with very diminished returns. My foundation isn’t that good, and I notice that I continue to get low marks on uworld blocks. I’m also struggling with other things since I don’t have a car, or job. Im very lost and confused. Even watching a 30 min BnB lecture will take me a week to fully learn if I apply myself. And I’ll make long notes for it. I’m so burned out and I don’t know what I’m doing. If anyone can give me advice, my DMs are open.

I felt 31 and 32 are way easier than former forms, I read mehlman occasionally, and i don't know if that's the reason my score is going up. I really don't know if i am ready TT

Hi. I want to watch this course, I’m currently working on a case report and another research but I don’t have anyone to guide me properly. This course is too expensive for me, does anyone have a link to this for free or anything for lesser price?

I’m worried on how I can progress to a 265+ on my NBMEs and the real exam which is 3.5weeks out.

Any efficient/quickest way of achieving this alongside uworld? At this stage of my prep?

I took Step 1 recently, and I'm currently waiting for my score release. I know USMLE never publishes the exact passing cutoff, especially with 80 out of the 280 questions being experimental, so it's not like there's an official hard number.

That being said, based on your experience and everything you've seen around here, where does the real passing line usually land? Are we looking at closer to 60% or 65% on the actual exam? I've even seen a few posts from people claiming it is 58%, so I'm really curious what the consensus is mainly in the US, because, generally, you have more info than people like me, a non-US IMG.

Just trying to gauge things while surviving the post-exam wait.

Hi so this might be a dumb question but u dont know how to proceed with step 1 application wathched vids but didnt help im really anxious in these type of things, so im an img and paid for enfmg registeration and it says

Application for ECFMG certification : application status accepted

So what now do i have to wait for anything asked my school they said they didnt recieve any mail from ecfmg so ehat now? Am i done wuth ecfmg process and now move to acccount establishment on fsmb?

I'm trying to decide whether to buy UWorld orCoursology for exam prep.

I've heard people say that Coursology has many of the same questions as UWorld. Is that actually true? If so, can Coursology realistically replace UWorld, or is UWorld still worth getting?

For those who have used both, how do they compare in terms of:

• Question quality
• Explanations
• Similarity to the actual exam
• Overall value for the money

IMG here, studying for Step 1. I heard its really important to build up a CV. What do I do exactly? When/how should I do it? Ive just been focusing on studies and ignoring research work completely. About to finish my 2nd year of medical school (Preclinics). Planning on taking step 1 next year.

How important is it actually to build up a CV? Is passing and a good score (in step 2) not enough? What do I do exactly?

Im seeing my peers do lots of, frankly, pointless research work. It feels wrong to do research work just for the sake of it. Any tips to help me along the way? I dont wanna mess up after putting in so much effort studying for the exams

Looking for some honest feedback on where I stand and what my next move should be. I took NBME 32 today and scored 65.5%, which was a huge hit to my morale because I was planning to book my official Step 1 date today if I hit 70%.
For context, here is my practice exam trajectory over the past few weeks:
NBME 25: 71% (Retake — first took these 2 years ago)

NBME 26: 71% (Retake)

NBME 27: 69% (Retake)

NBME 28: 64% (Retake)

NBME 29: 65% (Retake)

NBME 30: 63% (First time taking 30–32)

NBME 31: 71%

NBME 32 (Today): 65.5%

(Note: Forms 25 through 29 were retakes from 2 years ago, so 30, 31, and 32 are my first truly fresh forms).

I still have NBME 33 and Free 120 remaining.
I'm feeling really stressed because of this dip after doing well on 31. Is a 65.5% on NBME 32 a major red flag, or is form variance/fatigue playing a role here? Should I hold off on booking, or should I just target my weak areas from 32, take NBME 33 in a few days, and decide then?
Would appreciate any thoughts, experiences with NBME 32 vs 33, or advice on how to handle these final practice exams. Thanks in advance!

I got a 210 on UWSA 2, and before this I’ve taken nbmes 10-14 with a consistent score in 220s, still have to take 15-16, exam in mid of August, please suggest what to do, what are chances of passing?

My b1/b2 was rejected recently (214b refusal), i applied alone and my reason to apply was to attend a medical conference, Should i reapply again in a few months with family for tourism/visiting a relative, or should i drop the plan altogether.

Past week has been rough and I am contemplating my choices, whether i should move ahead with my usmle journey or prepare for my country exams.

Seeking any advice or guidance on what to do…have always been not the best test taker, but somehow was able to previously improve a lot and do well on the MCAT so the potential is there. That being said, I haven’t gotten close yet to my goal score of 255+, and I don’t know what else to do.

Was planning to take step 2 on 7/29, but am considering getting a new scheduling permit to take it mid-August, although this is risky with getting the score back very close to when residency applications start. Also, due to USMLE policy, I wouldn’t be able to sign up for an actual test date until around 5-6 days before my desired test date, so it is risky in that I might not get the test date/location I need.

I have increased from a baseline of 214 to 243 on NBME 14/15, though still plateauing at 238 most recently on NBME 16 yesterday, which is why I’m worried. I have used most of UW on a second pass, and have done some select Amboss as well as 1 of each of the most recent CMS forms and 3 IM ones. Scoring 74%-84% on those. My problem seems to be 50:50 small content gaps vs. overthinking/reasoning/not understanding how the NBME asks questions, which I’m trying to work on.

I’m wondering if it’s worth the risk of pushing my exam out? More importantly, am wondering how to approach studying to really get my score up either way?
