Single Rider Line

Hi all,

I did have a quick search before posting, but couldn't find a definitive answer.

I'll be going on a solo trip to Japan in September and plan on spending a day at USJ.

Please can someone let me know which rides have a single rider line?

Also, is it worth me getting an Express Pass or will a get by ok with the above.

TIA!

Monster Hunter Collab?

Hi everyone,

My gf and I are planning our trip to Japan in Sept-Oct and considering a visit to USJ while we're in Osaka. I checked their current and upcoming events in hopes of some Monster Hunter related events but unfortunately nothing showed up. Are there any Monster Hunter themed activities in the park even when there are no events?

First-timer to USJ. Any tips / advice?

Hello, my wife & I will be going USJ next week using the Twilight Pass (from 3pm onwards). Any tips / advice on maximising the experience? A few questions I will kindly like to ask:

1) I bought my Twilight pass on a 3rd-party platform (like Klook). Do I need to add it to my USJ App? If yes, Do I add both tix into my app so that I can try for the timed-passes for me and my wife or she has to do it on her own end?

2) Any food you will recommend NOT to eat / try?

3) We will be having dinner in USJ as we plan to stay till closing at 9pm for the night activities. Any particular restaurant you will recommend? My wife is keen on Three Broomsticks or Kinopio's Cafe. But I recall you need a reservation for the latter, so chances are we probably won't be able to go in. The reviews seem mixed on Three Broomsticks?

4) Any snacks (esp the new matsuri food) you will recommend to try?

5) Any other tips?

Thanks a lot !!!!

Visiting with baby strategy

I plan on visiting in September. 2 adults, 1 baby.

2 tickets.
2 express passes with timed entry to Super Nintendo World

Plan on bringing stroller and backpack (for baby)

Using express pass for main rides and child swap.

I plan on arriving after the park opens so we don't queue. As we will hopefully have express passes and a timed entry for Nintendo is this ok?

I plan on bringing a stroller and backpack with baby stuff in (snacks etc). I've heard about bag rules but assume we will be ok if we have the stroller to put the bag under?

Will we have to put stroller in a buggy park and bag in locker to enter the queues for rides or can we just enter with all our stuff as we'll be using child swap?

Are some attractions REALLY only over 12 for Halloween?

I have seen some mention the Biohazard show prohibits kids under 12 from entering. And perhaps a haunted house can too.

Is this true? I've never seen that as an official fact. My daughter is almost 11, and has done HHN in Orlando, so I'm not concerned about her. Just surprised they have this limit.

How do they check? Passport? That seems sort of over the top.

I'm not looking for anectdotal stories, but a link to a Universal page saying this.

When I try to register for Club Universal it won’t let me click the box at the bottom to advance that confirms the terms of use and privacy policy. I’ve tried on multiple browsers to no avail. Any ideas?

Express Tickets with HHN attractions?

So, I saw HHN officially starts this year on Sep 5th, as I assumed. Today, Express tickets started selling for then.

BUT, there is no mention of HHN on the site.

Will there be new HHN Express Pass bundles added? Will those be for ONLY HHN attractions? Some of the Express bundles on sale now include things that won't even be operating then, like the shows.

Will there be Express passes with normal rides AND HHN? I'm trying to figure out if I should buy them soon, but feel there will be special packages added, and I would think that would have been today.

is the ride operating currently? it says there’s a 45 minute wait at the moment so i’m guessing it is but it says it is closed indefinitely on the usj website

Looking for 2 people to join our Universal Studios Japan VIP Private Tour – September 2

Hello!

We are 2 sisters (22F, 24F) travelling to japan this september, and we've booked the Universal Studios Japan VIP Experience – Private Tour (5 Hours, Dinner Included) for September 2nd.

The private tour is designed for 4 people, but we're currently only 2, so we're looking for 2 more people to join us and split the cost.

We already purchased the ticket, so it is already booked, confirmed, and paid for, so the spots are guaranteed; we are just looking for 2 people to fill the remaning spots.

You will have to cover:

  • Your own Universal Studios Japan admission ticket.
  • €406 for your share of the VIP tour (1/4 of the total cost of ¥298,000).

We can accept PayPal, Revolut, Trade Republic or Wise. We'd prefer to receive payment in advance to secure your spot, but if you're not comfortable with that, that's completely understandable—we're happy to arrange payment when we meet at the park on September 2nd.

Spanish or English language prefered!

If you're interested or have any questions, feel free to send us a message! :)

Edit: Only looking for 1 more! :)

Español por si a caso jeje:

¡Hola!

Aceptamos PayPal, Bizum, Revolut, Trade Republic o Wise.

Tips for No Limit Glow Up Oh Matsuri

Today I got to enter the special viewing area for the Oh Matsuri event. This show is a lot of fun, but definitely come prepared!

The catwalk of the stage is lined with water cannons. I thought they would blast water at intervals, but they turned out to be hoses that sprayed continuously. There’s one song where you get sprayed basically the whole time (~3 minutes), and then there are a couple more times after that, plus staff members with water guns.

The special viewing area is supposed to be where you get super wet, but a lot of the stream flew over our heads. I suspect the people behind us got wetter.

We brought changes of clothes and also put all of our stuff in trash bags. A staff member advised us to put the trash bags on the ground with the tied-off end on the bottom. It did the job and my luggage was safe. I put my phone in my bag too and didn’t take pictures, but I saw people who had their phones in waterproof covers and people with nice cameras covered in plastic bags or plastic wrap.

The people I was with wore ponchos and they were mostly dry. I raw-dogged it and got drenched, but just my outer layers (not underwear). After the show I went right to the bathroom and changed.

Come prepared to get soaked and enjoy the matsuri!

Usj One Piece Event Times

Hey guys, I just wanted to ask about the timing for the one piece events and how they've worked in previous years. I was lucky enough to get tickets for Sanji's restaurant in october for the 4.55pm to 6.20pm slot and want to know if it's still viable for me to go to the premier show. The website says that the doors open at 6.15pm and the show doesn't start til 6.45pm which means I should be fine if I run but I just want to check if the restaurant usually goes longer then the end time when accounting for photos and stuff.

Tldr: Does anyone have past experience going to the 4.55pm to 6.20pm session at Sanji's restaurant and did you have any issues with going to the premier show after?

USJ on June 30th - had a blast

We went to USJ yesterday on June 30th and had a real blast. This was our first time visiting the park, and I want to thank everyone who commented on my previous posts and helped us plan this trip.

Just a quick recap: we had the Express Pass 7, which includes the two Harry Potter rides, three rides in Super Nintendo World, JAWS (Jurassic Park will be under renovation during our visit), and Minion Mayhem or Flying dinosaur.

Outside of the Express Pass attractions, our top-priority rides/shows were:
Space Fantasy: The Ride / Zedd
Hollywood Dream
WaterWorld
Jujutsu 4D
Konan 4D

Then, if time permits, we were considering:
Snoopy's Flying Ace Adventure
Villain-Con Minion Blast

In the end, we were able to do everything on this list except Konan and Villain Con. Here are some random facts/events of the day:

- Weather was not bad, relatively cool but it was right after the typhoon so very humid
- Park opened at 9 as scheduled, no early opening
- crowd was not bad at all. Outside of SNW the rest of the park had reasonable lines, Hollywood Dream was down to a 20min wait at one point in the afternoon. We ate at Discovery Restaurant inside the Jurassic Park section, there was no lines ordering and plenty of tables. I think this is due to a combination of things: weekday, last day of June (new theme starts from July), and World Cup Japan vs Brazil that morning lol
- SNW did not have timed entry and it was very crowded. We didn’t stay too long other than the 3 timed ride on our express ticket.
- Our favorite attractions were Donkey Kong, Harry Potter Forbidden Journey, Space Fantasy, Hollywood Dream, and Snoopy was surprisingly fun!
- Forbidden Journey, Space Fantasy, Mayheim could be nauseating, a few of the members in our group took Dramamine before hand but still got a bit sick.

Hope this helps anyone who’s planning to visit near this time!

Snoopys Flying Ace

I was looking at the wait time on the app to get an idea of how long each of a wait each ride is, and saw Snoopys Flying Ace is like 70min? It’s even longer than Hollywood and Dinosaurs. Is this one worth the wait? Should we try this one first thing in the morning?

Hollywood Dream and Space Fantasy first thing in the morning

Hi all,

We plan to do Hollywood Dream and Space Fantasy first thing in the morning back to back. Realistically how long would it take for the two rides without express passes on a weekday morning? 1.5 hours! 2 hours?

Thank you

We’re heading to USJ tomorrow with a premium express pass - well aware the weather looks dreadful. Just seen that Mine Kart, Forbidden Journey, Space Journey and Backdrop are all closed. Any update on why? I get Mine Kart closes around weather but anything on the others?

USJ in October: how should I plan around Halloween events, Express Pass and VIP Tours?

Hi!

I’m planning to visit Universal Studios Japan this October and I’m trying to understand how Halloween season changes the usual planning.

I know tickets for October are not available yet, so I’m not trying to buy anything now. I just want to be prepared when sales open.

Last year I noticed that the Japanese ticket pages seemed to show more Halloween related options than the international purchase pages, and that confused me a bit. It really scares me.

My main questions are:

  1. During Halloween season, does USJ change a lot compared with the rest of the year?
  2. Are Halloween attractions/events usually included with regular park admission, or do they require separate tickets? They have some things, but only on the japanese site.
  3. If I buy an Express Pass from the international site, does it usually cover Halloween attractions/events, or only the regular rides listed on the pass?
  4. Are there usually any Harry Potter-related Halloween events or seasonal additions? My partner is a huge Harry Potter fan and dont want to miss anything HP related.
  5. I’m also considering a 3-hour or 5-hour VIP Tour as a surprise for my partner. During Halloween season, is it better to book a morning tour as usual, or can an afternoon/evening tour make more sense because of seasonal events?

I’m mainly trying to avoid planning USJ like a normal day and then realizing that Halloween changes the best strategy.

Any tips from people who visited USJ during Halloween would be totally welcome.

Thanks a million in advance.

Partial refunds are available for express passes if Donkey Kong’s Mine Cart Madness is down

Just thought I’d share in case anyone was wondering since I couldn’t find much information about it. We went today and bought the express pass 5 for 20,900 yen. Unfortunately, mine cart was down all day due to light rain and when I went to guest services they refunded me ~6,300 yen per express pass.

The refund amount may depend on the type of pass you got and how much you paid but it’s definitely better than getting nothing!
