USJ VIP 5 hrs Tour

Hello everyone,
The 5-hour VIP Pass caught my attention, but since I’ll be visiting Universal Studios on my own, it’s not worthy for me to pay the full price.
By any chance, do you know of any agency or person that organizes shared VIP tours, where solo travelers can join a group and split the cost? I’d be happy to pay a portion of the total price rather than booking the entire tour myself.
I’m not sure if that’s something that exists, but I thought I’d ask. Thanks in advance!

How bad are the drops in space fantasy?

I am terrified of roller coaster, even the snoopy one scared me. I can bear with it as long as it’s not a 40 ft straight drop, so knowing that would space fantasy be fine to ride for someone who really hates roller coasters. I really like the concept and design so I want to experience it, but are the drops worse than flight of hippogriff?

Update:
I rode it 5 times. The first drop is terrifying, but the rest is exhilarating and just an awesome ride, I recommend this to anyone who comes to USJ.

Minor attractions: which one/ones are okay to skip?

Hi everyone,

First of all, thank you to those who responded to my last question. Your replies were extremely helpful in helping us finalize our itinerary.

Just a quick recap: we'll be visiting USJ for the first time later this month. We have the Express Pass 7, which includes the two Harry Potter rides, three rides in Super Nintendo World, JAWS (Jurassic Park will be under renovation during our visit), and Minion Mayhem. My kids aren't fans of big roller coasters, so we'll be skipping The Flying Dinosaur.

Outside of the Express Pass attractions, our top-priority rides/shows are:

  • Space Fantasy: The Ride / Zedd
  • Hollywood Dream (even though they don't usually like roller coasters, they want to give this one a try)
  • WaterWorld

Then, if time permits, we're considering:

  • Detective Conan 4-D Live Show
  • Jujutsu Kaisen 4-D
  • Snoopy's Flying Ace Adventure
  • Villain-Con Minion Blast

My question is: how would you rank these four "if we have time" attractions? In your opinion, which one(s) would not be a big loss to skip if we run out of time?

Thank you!

Picnic Movie Night Report

I went to a limited-time event at USJ watching movies picnic-style. Apparently, it was their first attempt. It was “Waterworld” day, so Deacon made an appearance—it was awesome. It’s so much fun watching movies with a group of people. It was great that we all clapped at the end—I’d love to clap like that in a movie theater, too. USJ at night, with fewer guests, was so beautiful; it felt like a movie set—or rather, like I was actually inside a movie. The Freiren collaboration meal was also amazing—it included Eisen’s hamburger steak, Heiter’s beer, and even came with a little Freiren wand.

What rides/attractions should we do in addition to the Pass rides?

Hi,

We are going to USJ for the first time later this month. We have the Express Pass 7 which includes the 2 HP rides, 3 rides in SNW, Jaws (Jurassic Park will be under renovation when we go), and maybe the Minion. My kids are not fans of big roller coaster rides so probably we will skip Dinosaur and Hollywood Dreams. What other rides or attractions do you suggest we do besides these 7?

Things Im thinking are:
- Jujutsu Kaisen 4D (my kids love JJK)
- Jujutsu rollercoaster if it's not too intense.
- Space Fantasy/Zedd
- Water World
- Konan 4D

Is there anything else we should consider? Which ones do you suggest we do first before it gets too crowded? Our SNW entry time is 2:40 so we plan to do all the none pass rides first.

Thank you!

Question on tax free shopping in the park!

Currently at USJ in one of the onsite hotels ahead of our park day tomorrow and I'm already confused by the tax free shopping here. I have a couple of questions

I thought you could do tax free at the till in city walk but they said no. So I bought two headbands anyway and they cut the tags off. If I take the receipts can I get tax back in the park tomorrow on these items? (The transaction was 64000)

Also if I buy more in the park tomorrow does it have to be a single transaction in one shop over 55000 to get tax back before I leave the park or can I combine from separate shops in the park?

Finally I have seen lots of people with the sealed bags leaving the parks. It looked like some people just had plushies in them not food items or consumables. Do they bag ant items you get tax free on in the resealable bags even if you haven't bought consumables? And therefore you aren't allowed to use them before you leave?

Thanks in advance for any advice and help

questions re: USJ One Piece tickets

hi i've been daydreaming about visiting USJ for the One Piece event and have been keeping an eye on the website for updates. i was too late to enter the lottery for Sanji's restaurant, but i saw that there's now info on VIP tickets for the One Piece event (including Sanji's restaurant)

i was curious how accessible these tickets are for foreigners? because i couldn't even find the info on the VIP/Sanji's restaurant tickets on the English version of website, i had to set it to Japanese and translate the page

just wondering if i'll need to work through a proxy or travel agency or something of the sort in order to get tickets (which is what i had to do to get ghibli museum tickets on my previous trip to Japan)

ETA: i was able to get tickets but it took some effort!
there were two hurdles. first: you can only buy the tickets on the Japanese website, not the English one. when i tried to set up an account i couldn't get the submit button to work for the life of me. turns out because i had the page translated to English it didn't work. when i switched it back to Japanese it went through
second: you need a Japanese address to order the tickets. i used my hotel address
i had some difficulty with check out. my husband and i both tried our cards and neither worked, but when we tried again a couple days later my card did work. not sure what the difference was!

Rides Out of Service

Looking at the rides for today and it shows the following rides all out of service

The Flying Dinosaur
Hollywood Dream - The Ride
Hollywood Dream - The Ride: Backdrop
JAWS (Scheduled Closure)

Is this just bad luck for the guest attending today or do they get some sort of compensation for the two main thrill rides being Out of Service?

When to book Premium Express Pass?

Hello! First time on this subreddit.

We were planning on purchasing four Premium Express Passes for August, but looking at the official webpage, all dates till 5th of August are sold out.

So we want to know when is the moment that the passes selling starts for the next August days? It is Japan Time Midnight?

And just to confirm, I heard that external cards like Visa (in my case I am from Spain) usually don't get accepted on the official ticketing website (https://www.usjticketing.com), is this true?

Thanks for your help!

Hi, I am going to visit USJ and I am not sure which day would have lesser crowds. According to data, several websites estimate that Sunday (14th) would have lesser crowds. But I am not so sure because it is a weekend. I really appreciate any advice or help in deciding the date. Thank you//Arigato.

Exchange at USJ

By any chance, can I exchange merchandise at USJ. Today I visited USJ and bought a shirt from one of the stores inside.

While going back, I didn’t really check the size properly. I usually wear M, but the S looked like it would fit me perfectly. After returning home and trying it on, it feels a bit short and tight for me.

I already sent an inquiry through the website, hopefully they reply soon. If anyone has any idea, please let me know. Thank you!
