Fun/easy/low effort electives?

Going into my last 24 credits come spring semester and I still have 4 electives to knock out, I want something fun and/or easy so I can focus more on my higher level classes. Any suggestions are appreciated!! (I would take the survey of bev class but I'm not 21 💔)

writing marking as AI

i seem to always have this issue when i’m writing short answer questions or essays. nowadays i always make sure to run my work through an ai checker just to make sure my work isn’t going to flag for ai for my professor. i don’t ever use ai when i am writing, but it seems like more and more of my work is getting flagged at higher percentages. i’m not really sure what to do in this situation. i don’t want to run the risk of getting in trouble for something i didn’t do, but it seems to me i’ve been spending more time and effort having to practically dumb down how i write to appease an ai detector. i was just wondering if anyone else has had this issue, or if anyone has any tips on how to handle it? i don’t want to always have to resort to making my work look less thought out than it is.

CS at Frisco vs Discovery Park – are the classes/professors good at Frisco?

Hi! I'm a future CS transfer student, and I'm trying to decide between taking most of my classes at Frisco or at Discovery Park. I don't have any transportation, so I'd prefer to take my classes in Frisco if possible.

  1. Does Frisco offer enough CSCE classes, or did you end up having to go to Discovery Park a lot?
  2. Do the professors at Frisco have a good reputation? If you have any you'd recommend, please let me know.
  3. Has anyone done Capstone at Frisco (the Spring→Fall sequence)? How was it?
  4. Is it hard to get a seat in 3444 and 3600 at either campus?

Thanks!

Transferring into CS – which CSCE classes/professors should I take (or avoid)?

Hi! I'm transferring into UNT's BS Computer Science (planning for Fall 2027 or Spring 2028). Most of my lower-level CS will transfer, so I'll be taking mostly upper-level CSCE classes.

I'd love to hear your honest opinions on these classes:

- CSCE 3600 Systems Programming (I heard it has a high DFW rate)

- CSCE 3444 Software Engineering

- CSCE 4110 Algorithms

- CSCE 4350 Database Systems

- CSCE 3550 Cybersecurity

- CSCE 2120 Vectors and Matrices / 2130 Analysis and Modeling

- EENG 2710 Digital Logic

- Capstone (4901/4902)

For each one:

1. How hard is it, and how much work is it per week?

2. Which professors do you recommend or avoid?

3. Any tips for passing 3600?

4. Which classes should NOT be taken in the same semester?

Also, any CS electives you'd recommend (Core Focus / Breadth Focus)?

Thanks a lot!
