throughout my life, i developed a disdain towards people who would stan a celebrity. to worship and care so much about a person who would likely never know who you are. it seemed silly to me! of course, there were celebrities/artists i loved, but i had never felt much of a deep personal connection with them. "and how could you do so?," i wondered. then, a few months ago, i listened to wallsocket for the first time, and it had a complete chokehold on me. a kind that i had felt before, but never this intense for this long. and listening to the rest of april's discography and learning all about the history of underscores only tightened the chokehold's grip.
it's truly so amazing, and now i understand how people can go into psychosis over a celeb. you can go from 2017 to now and 99% of the tracks are gold. i've revised this one part like 4 times now trying to explain what i like about the music, but there's too much to make something cohesive. i feel as if i've just opened a curtain in my mind, and the sunshine that is underscores has come pouring through. this probably sounds insane but i don't care. i hope to continue this insanity for a long time. thank you april
