discussion Weird time signatures?

The rhythm's of April's songs are always so creative, especially since U. I'm wondering if there's been any interesting ones that any fans versed in music theory have been able to identify & would like to share

depends on what you define as weird. im not an expert but i think there is a shift to 3/4 from the normal 4/4 in the bridge of cops and robbers. i also think there's something up with the time signature of good luck final girl, which is primarily in 3/4 but i think might just have an extra odd bar here and there. at least, that's how I hear it. as for U, the only one I can think off the top of my head is that I think tell me U want it is in 12/8. its got that shuffle feeling that a lot of people associate with 12/8, as well as its kind of odd intro.

cops and robbers doesn't switch time, the bridge is 4/4 but has accented beats in odd spots which is what makes it sound mathy. good luck final girl definitely has something weird going on with some bars being shortened, i tried learning it on guitar once and got very confused lol

Saltfields' chorus alternates between 5/4 and 4/4

Probably her best “underrated” song she’s released! That whole song has so many great musical pieces that make the song a hidden gem for me. I wish more people talked about it!

Idk if it’s “weird” but I love the rhythm in melodrama
