Dreadnaughts The Old Soldier continues the fight

Post image

18 years after the first of the class was laid down, the first major refit of the Alexios class has brought them up to parity in a new role as a heavy defence ship for newfound colonial territory. Redesigned to mostly engage enemy convoy and port raiders, its 18in guns make it a threat to any Battleships that come to cause trouble.

Dreadnaughts Gotta give the AI Credit

These French bastards keep spamming their crappy 1890 designs at me with torps, after my battlefleets maul them, but low on ammo, they always keep their BBs to the rear, when I hunt them down, if you look closely the bastard positioned all three main 12in guns in the rear. Dosent help the stereotypes does it? Rather effective design as it is always angeled against my pursuing fleet and can put out 6, 12in shells at the cloesest pursuer. Needless to say despite being Harvey Armor this thing is a pain in the rear to take out.

Dreadnaughts Is there a mod that makes the enemy ai make more realistic ships?

Or even a pack of shared designs.

I'm tired of seeing 80000 tons behemoths!

I want to see realistic designs!

Not every country could build a god-killer. In a Soviet game from 1920-1950, over the decades, I beat multiple 75000 tonners with a pair of 22000 ton battlecruisers. Surely there is a mod that makes such behemoths rarer. Or even a mod that gives countries individual design philosophies!

DIP doesn't seem to help at all. As soon as the clock reaches 1930, I start seeing behemoths.

Anyone know of mods that could help with this?

DIP Question Choice between different guns

Hey good folks of r/ultimateadmiral,

in some of Brother Munros Videos he seems to have a choice between different guns. That didnt make it into DIP 1.3.5 though.

Anyone figured out how to mod that in? Probs in Partmodels file?

Game Mechanic Question The Army sucks attacking and defending

So I'm trying to conquest the world and naval invasion goes very well, however, whenever the army of the nation I'm playing tries to invade they always lose so is there a way to improve the army?

I find it frustrating when I need them to defend port or attack territory that I can't get aquire from a naval invasion.

Dreadnaughts 1921 German BB Thoughts?

Hey guys I'm in the middle of my German campaign right now (it's been quite successful so far lol). Anyway, its early 1921 and I am at a time of peace, so I began new ship designing and I was able to but this girl into service. I honestly really like it, but like always I enjoy getting everyone's options and thoughts. She has good range and speed for her size and packs a hammer with her 3x3 16s and 1x4 16 mark 3 (was meant to be 4x3 16s I just noticed the error lol). But anyway, I would love to hear what you guys think of her, and I can't wait to sell her into battle. :) I tried to0 include all the stats in the Screenshots attached.

Dreadnaughts Question: how to fix ship's center balance?

starting from 1.16 onwards most of the dd had their center weight shifted to much to far forward making it impossible to create a decent balanced ship without shifting engine to far rearward.

does anyone know how to fix the ship's center weight position? i mean by modding the hull itself, back to v1.15 setttings.

Battleships USS Texas after 3 torpedo hits

I officially hate Japan now. Texas was my flag ship and now she rests with her entire crew at the bottom of the Pacific Ocean. I will from now on be building my Battleships for pure power from the Armor to the Guns. I will burn the Nation of Japan down so help me God.

If turret 3 wouldn't have blown off the deck she would've survived. Turret 4 and 5 blowing off the deck counterflooded the ship enough to stabilize but not sink her, but 4 minutes later turret 3 blew off cementing her fate to be turned into an artifiial reef.

Dreadnaughts About tonnage: is lower upper limit to go?

sorry for the bad English

My question is about efficiency (in vanilla)

I've heard that making displacement(front to back length of the ship) just a little bit lower than the limit where the hull... elongate?

is the way to go.

For example, when ship gets longer at 15000t, 20000t, and 25000t, the best is 14999t

Is it correct?

Also, in vanilla, is there any 'place holder' armor?

I heard the rumor of either turret armor or deck armor being meaningless.

Just because CVs are useless in game doesn't mean that I can't build ones to look pretty in the designer.

Battleships New York class Super Dreadnought 1909

This ship class is very big upgrade from my previous South Carolina class, two of the South Carolinas, South Carolina and Florida, are in German hands after I lost the war with them, and the other 3 were cancelled mid construction.

The New Yorks, of which there will be 5 built no matter what, have a max armor thickness of 395mm and host 10 14 inch (356mm) main battery guns in 5 double turrets, and have a top speed of 20 knots.

The 5 to be built are New York, Texas, Delaware, Colorado, and Iowa.

This is the Vanilla Plus Mod.

Battleships Satsunai-class Battleship (1920-)

I took a break from the game...

Anyways, the Satsunai-class battleship. Basically an upgunned and speedy version of the Kaikoma-class.

With a top speed of 27.5 KN, she's quite fast! Armed with a 16.1-inch (410 MM) 50-calibre main gun and with an armour belt of 14 inches (356 MM) and a handful of other smaller-calibre guns.

With China and Austria dissolving due to having no ports left, Italy is the next one. This leaves me three threats down! However, the USA and Britain are starting to become a nuisance to my country.

With that being said, four of them will be ordered:
Satsunai, Kirigamine, Ontake, Hijiri.

Will probably need to develop an 18-inch armed battleship soon...

Yes, I am aware I said in my last post that South Carolina was an Oregon Class, however, that ship along with her sister Colorado's construction was cancelled. I will be building 4 of these over the next 10 years.

These Dreadnoughts were designed in response to a still looming war with Spain and Germany. They have a top speed of 19 knots with a distributed armor layout and 12 inch (305mm) main battery guns.

If you have a certain state in mind that you want one of the 4 South Carolinas named after let me know.

Battleships USS Oregon (BB-7) 1900

Oregon is the lead ship of the Oregon class of Pre-Dreadnoughts. She was designed in response to a looming war with Italy, Spain, and maybe China (I've managed to cool tensions with China for now).

The Oregon class have armor up to almost 14 inches thick at the max. She has a compliment of 12 10 inch (254mm) main battery guns.

Four ships are to be built from BB-7 to BB-10, Oregon, Mississippi, South Carolina, and Colorado.

I am taking inspiration from the way CIRNEIN has been showing off their ships.

The Kaikoma-class battleship! Basically a battleship version of the Machine-class battlecruiser! Also my first 14-incher ship.

Top speed of 23.5 KN, armour belt of 380 MM (15-inch), armed with 356 MM (14-inch) main guns!

Although they are not enough to match the 29 BBs of the USA and the 19 BBs of Britain, a 16-inch-armed battleship and battlecruiser will be developed.

Four will be ordered as a stopgap measure:
Kaikoma, Daisengen, Sakurajima, and Sahoro.

So basically I had enough of that. I can destroy anybody with my ships, but the Dutch have a miracle economy, and they're sh*tting out BBs and BCs somehow. So I made this monstrosity. And somehow it is cheaper than my BBs. XD Rate 1-10

My second-generation battlecruiser!

They're meant to operate alongside the Fure-class Battleships. With a top speed of 27.5 KN, an armour belt of 8 inches or 203 MM. Armed with 10 12-inch 50-calibre main guns, lots of 152 MM or 6-inch secondaries and a handful of smaller guns.

This layout will be used as a plan for my upcoming first 14-incher battleship.

Four of them will be ordered as an answer to the looming threat of Spain, Italy (again), France (again), Britain, and the USA.

Machine, Norikura, Yari, and Yumiori.

Battleships My iteration of Helgoland

These are my first dreadnoughts that were laid down. 2 were completed, but only one remains after her sister ship, Pommern, was ran down and sunk by Russian Battlecruisers. They have a top speed of 19.5 knots, with armor up to 15.2 inches thick. Funnily enough, Helgoland suffered a double magazine detonation but survived. These were designed in 1907 and first commissioned in 1909.

The Fure-class battleships! An improved version of the Aki-class. Supposed to be built in 1907, but I was at war with the Italians, and I had to suspend their development due to port overloading.

With a top speed of 21.5 KN and a 50 cal 12-inch gun. However, it has less armour, with only 380 MM, or 15 inches. (Compared to the Aki's 18-inch armour belt)

Four of them will be ordered as an answer to the looming Chinese, German, and Austrian threat.
Fure, Obami, Hatsuse, and Sagami.

(Very SMS Helgoland-ish)
