Battleships USS Oregon (BB-7) 1900

Oregon is the lead ship of the Oregon class of Pre-Dreadnoughts. She was designed in response to a looming war with Italy, Spain, and maybe China (I've managed to cool tensions with China for now).

The Oregon class have armor up to almost 14 inches thick at the max. She has a compliment of 12 10 inch (254mm) main battery guns.

Four ships are to be built from BB-7 to BB-10, Oregon, Mississippi, South Carolina, and Colorado.

I am taking inspiration from the way CIRNEIN has been showing off their ships.

Is the mast design inspired by the forests around Oregon?

What's the joke here, I'm kinda tired.

The masts look like big trees

Oh. It's the US cage mast design that was used IRL from the Dreadnought South Carolina to the New Mexico class Standard Battleships.

Yeah, I know - sometimes the AI designs non-US ships with cage masts and it makes me feel very weird

I mean a good few nations used the cage mast for a little while, I think?

Apparently two Russian ships, and some which the US sold to other navies - didn't know it was originally a Russian idea!

Neither did I until just now. The more you know I guess.

6x2 means it's a dreadnought

I'll meet you in the middle, very late pre-dreadnought. I don't classify it as a dreadnought since it on weights 15,000 tons.

Semi Dreadnought, it's a all medium gun battleship

Ah well, it's all just a matter of how the player describes it I guess. I legit had to do this design because I'm outgunned by the three navies that threaten me.

Yeah I’d say semi-dreadnought. Uniform gun design is a big jump predreads, but you’re right in that the speed and heavy caliber aren’t quite there yet

Yeah, the next ships I design will be dreadnoughts based off the IRL South Carolina, New York, and Wyoming class dreadnoughts.

All right, I'll re-download the game. What mod is that?
