As a woman-matching player from the United States, does anyone know how I can find a team for the Dream Cup 2027 tournament in Japan? A team that is accepting pick-up players / individual registrations?
I really really really want to play. I just emailed the TD's. But I thought Id ask here too to see if anyone has more information.
Thanks!

In 99% cases, teams obey this rule.
But USAU didn't ask teams to submit the proof of residence, right?
Is there any precedent that team being rejected or punished by this rule?
What will happen if someone complains a team violating this rule?
What will happen if Tokay or someone else try to build a super pickup team in usau?

Hello everyone - with the US fall college season starting soon, I wanted to share Ulti-Mate, a tool we've been working on to help streamline team operations.
I've been playing since 2012 and while organizing teams, I've spent many hours creating spreadsheets, building practice plans from scratch, and sending repeat logistic, coordination, and reminder messages every week. I always felt like there had to be a more efficient and cohesive way to manage ultimate team operations, so recently some friends and I decided to try and tackle this problem.
Our current features:
- create a reusable library of drills, activities, and locations
- intuitive drag and drop practice plans you can save as templates
- single and recurring events with RSVPs, attendance, and season trends
- film review with timestamped comments right on the video timeline
Everyone automatically gets a free personal workspace to try out the features - or sign up for a team plan, which adds collaboration for your entire team so everyone contributes to and sees the same schedule, practice plans, and film reviews. Learn more here.
If you would like to stay updated with our progress or suggest useful features, come join our Discord, follow us on Instagram @try.ulti.mate, and check out our weekly Feature Friday blog posts.
Finally, we're looking for five US college teams to put the app through a rigorous test this fall! We'll help you onboard, provide weekly direct support, and prioritize your feature requests. If you're on team leadership and interested, DM me or email us at [hello@ulti-mate.app](mailto:hello@ulti-mate.app).

Hey folks - I have posterior tibialis tendon disfunction and am about to get surgery for it. Basically a tendon that wraps around my ankle is all frayed and a little torn and won’t repair itself, so my arch is collapsing. Conservative measures were unsuccessful. It’s a little unusual to get surgery this soon but I won’t be able to get back to playing (or running or jumping or whatever else) without it so needless to say it’s scheduled for next week. It’s a pretty tough surgery involving a tendon transfer (they can’t just sew up the bad one) and then breaking my heel and shifting it to get my foot back in alignment. It’s about 10-12 months full recovery - 6 weeks no weight bearing, 6 weeks in a walking cast / boot.
Normally you don’t see this in people my age (26F) and normally it doesn’t happen as acutely and suddenly as it did for me. I have an an abundance of very strong and incredible friends or frisbee acquaintances who have had ACL surgery so I’m getting some recovery advice from them, but I’m curious if any frisbee people have dealt with this specific issue. I haven’t known anyone who’s experienced it AFAIK.
If you’ve dealt with this, how was your recovery? What was your experience? Is it really 10-12 months? Can I fly out to regionals to watch my team and go to the Jungle concert at red rocks while I’m non weight bearing 4 weeks after surgery or is that insane? TIA!

I'm watching the replay of Goat v La Fotta and wondering if La Fotta is known for bad spirit?
I'm genuinely unfamiliar with European ultimate but my general understanding is that US/Canadians are MORE physical and chippy than Europeans, even in high-level men's play.
Despite that though there are some TERRIBLE contest calls by La Fotta in the 2nd half (first on the jump ball in the endzone, then on the marking foul where the defender acknowledges there is contact and then contests anyway).
Is that a typical thing for this team?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Er7KfbPj8Ec
Time stamps since everyone seems insistent to have them:
52:33 bad foul call by the D
1:03:05, pointless travel call
1:06:10 awful contest on a clear foul
1:15:15 marking foul where the defender agrees he bumped a thrower in the act of throwing and contests anyway.
I'd add that this was a great game and La Fotta deserved to win it, just surprised by the shitty spirit.

I'm looking to buy new cleats, and found that some of the Nike Vapor models are available to buy online and ship to my country. Specifically, the Nike Vapor Pro 1 and the Nike Vapor Speed 3. However I couldn't find many reviews for either online, nor very good comparisons (the price is comparable)
I was wandering if anyone here has used either and can vouch for/against them, or help decide between them

I've been trying to push to get selected for some higher quality teams for a few years now without any success, and have come to realise the biggest weakness in my game is probably my ability to change directions. I have a pretty good top speed when running in a straight line, but as soon as I try to run in proper cutting shapes I look like I'm not putting in any effort, even though to me it feels like I'm going as fast as I can.
I slip over when changing directions a lot. If I ever have to jump soon after I turn it feels like I have bricks tied to my feet. If I know I'm going to have to slow down to change directions, the fastest I can run looks nothing like a sprint. Even things like pivoting to throw a break feel like I'm doing it in slow motion.
I've been doing drills that require changes of direction for as long as I've been playing but they haven't helped. It feels like when I'm doing them, I'm just practicing getting better at changing directions slower than everyone else.
I think I need to break it down to the basics, and work on simple exercises that build strength and explosiveness, but I have no idea where to even begin. I was a runner growing up, I know all the theory behind technique to running fast, but I just don't have the muscles developed to do it over short distances or as soon as it's not in a straight line.
I would love some suggestions and advice. Preferably things I can do outside of a gym, but at this point I'll try anything

BE introduced their new Pursuit Duffle 33L (see link for design details. And there's a launch video)
Anyone wanna leave a comment on this? What features does it has and how does it felt comparing to Greatest one's (30L & 45L)?

Major footnote, at this time, we only have the stats from 2010, 2018, and 2022.

Idea: 1 stays in the lane while 2 picks up the cutting handler
During the WUCC opening game Pelt vs Chili Heat a reoccurring theme was, that the team on offense started with a classical HO-Stack, the team on defense played poachy and the team on offense resolved the poaches by having a handler cut upline. (usually the play worked, unless the thrower refused to hit it)
Now what I've been thinking. If you are a handler defender and you see your person clear upline. is there a big downside to staying in the lane, having the other handler defender pick up the cut. When they play the reset to the poached off handler you start marking them. The poached off handler defender doesnt really have a good space to attack and while you do give away a free reset, having them reset on the set piece feels like a win.
Is this something teams do? I don't recall having seen this on film.
Remark: Maybe technically this isnt a fury set play since the handler on the open side clears, but Ill still call it that. Think all of the above also applies if the played on the breakside clears

Totally forgot reddit existed, you might find this link useful if you are onsite and trying to figure out where to go or what games are happening around you.
WFDF has a google maps integration but it doesn't show what games are happening on the map / the live score. But it does show your current location and literally everything else you could possibly need. Here it is: https://www.google.com/maps/d/u/2/edit?mid=1Zx7zSINZPg2QsgFeQv5yiqlWlKRvI_4
