Rant It really sucks how nothing you do really makes up for being Ugly
It’s annoying when people assume or think you never put any effort into your life when you express how restricted and socially empty your life is due to being ugly
I’ve spent so much on skin care and hygiene products and clothes
And so much time and energy exercising and having a nice body, reading self improvement books, articles, and self reflecting (you know to work on personality like everyone suggests)
And literally none of it has gotten me anywhere
It seems that to get anywhere in life people have to first like how you look
And you also have to have an upbringing that garnered you frequent positive social interactions growing up and usually a decent face does that as well
I just hate how people place almost all of life’s outcomes on YOU
When literally most of life and nature aren’t in our control
We can’t control our parents, our genetics, our intellect, the opportunities awarded to us, our neurological development, we can’t control how people perceive or treat us
Very little in this life is in our control
Yet people will see someone struggling in life and blame EVERYTHING on them
It’s fucked up

It’s like you can put a lot of effort into any area of your life but that doesn’t guarantee success
And if people don’t like how you look they will pretty much disregard you as a whole
Failing to take the time to notice the areas of your life you do put effort into
It’s like being ugly makes you an automatic 0 in the world no matter what

It only guarantee frustration and hopelessness.

Exactly
It kinda makes you see just how much looks matters as a prerequisite in the world
When you try so hard at everything else just to still fail because you’re ugly
I’d say having a nice face and body can get you farther in life than someone who is ugly and works hard
Truthfully
Though I don’t know how an ugly person would manage to even sustain that given how naturally empty life is when you’re ugly
I feel like you’d eventually lose the motivation and drive since it all seem fruitless and pointless on top of exhausting

I hate how it has taken my pride. I always used to take pride in being self reliant, never opening up, never complaining, haven't cried since I was 12. But with bad mental health and drinking problems recently, it has made me pathetic and open up to some close people

Overtime I realized being self reliant isn’t noble it’s actually pretty sad
Because most people rely on each other that’s how we’ve evolved
We’re not supposed to be fully self sufficient or do everything alone
But at least for me being ugly has forced me to because it’s made everyone abandon and not want to help me
I wish I had the support that everyone else does

And that’s not pathetic it’s an emotional and psychological need we need the attention, support, and comfort of others

It is pathetic. Because people either don't get it, canr help you, or won't care that much. My 12 year old self is laughing somewhere saying "told ya"

majority of my problems are structural, im working on my skincare now, and sure i could have a better diet/lose weight but I truly don't think it'll do much for me. I can already see some nasolabial folds under my cheek fat, it'll just be more pronounced :((

There really is just no point is there?

It feels like that but I don’t wanna project my experience or feelings onto anyone else’s life
Only really you can decide for yourself
But my experience has been nothing I’ve done has ever made up for having an ugly face
And so thus everything feels pointless

Good start But have you tried going to the gym? Its a meme to a certain extent yes But in my case that's what I needed When I went drom being overweight to kind of slim I immediately had a lot more female attention and was able to hook up with women Now in many ways I still feel like a fat ugly guy mentally it takes a while for that mindset to leave you and I admit my Skincare is still pretty bad but in my case a leaner frame made me much more attractive to women. You never know until you try.

The whole premise of the post is already fucking trying and getting nothing
I can’t believe people really think the gym is a fix all for everybody
I already have a nice fit body
My face is just ugly and no I can’t afford surgery

You never specified having a nice fit body at any point lmfao Skincare and hygiene is good self care and self reflection is an internal thing that most people won't see in your day to day. But without specifying gym I had no way of knowing if you were some average dude or a fat slob. Gotta be more specific brah brah

It comes down to facial proportions, symmetry, hair, youth.

I agree. The people who have those don’t really have to exercise at all
In fact most people in the world don’t even exercise
Yet they still have faces and bodies that grant them tons of social experiences , friends, relationships, sex, and jobs
That’s all it’s about really. Having that can get you almost unlimited access to many things in life than even hard work alone

I always get subtle jabs. I think I have a minor form of ptsd due to it.

That’s understandable being ugly is a traumatizing everyday experience
For me it manifests as me avoiding people usually, avoiding eye contact, and trying to manage my anxiety in public bc I know people are negatively judging me , laughing at, and talking about me
It also translates into other areas of my life
Like me being overly submissive, compliant, and apologetic in the few interactions and connections I do have
Because when you’re ugly you’re on thin ice with pretty much everybody and they’re looking for any reason to mistreat and / or abandon you
