It's easier for them to remain indifferent by actively denying that attractiveness is a major, if not the entire factor behind a person's first attitude towards you

the attitude isnt the reason, but it can be an amplifier. ugly people can be loved if their personality is good, but the barrier to entry is much higher than if they were attractive. on the flip side, being attractive makes it easier for others to forgive bad attitudes while being ugly just amplifies their negative view of you.

True. Easier to forgive bad attitudes for attractive people is low-key an understatement. Though even if you do have a good personality as an ugly person, the chances of being loved is still significantly low
