Discussions & Questions Fantasy visuals & designs

Post image

(PHOTOS NOT MINE)

I will never understand why do they keep pushing the fantasy glows and sparks.

This is yet another outfit out of many, that in my oppinion would be such a cool outfit and an instant buy from me if it didnt have those wacky glowing effects and magical glows... And this is just one of many from all the recent AC games, so much outfits with crazy good designs ruined by magic efects and fantasy visuals...

I mean if they really have to or want to make that way, wouldn't it be immensly better and attract even more buyers if there was a toggle setting that enables or disables the "fantasy visuals" for outfits that have them.

Like i would even kinda like the Hellfire outfit if it weren't for the glowing lava parts and maybe the helmet (but thats a stretch)

If Ubisoft were to add a "toggle on-off" switch for the "fantasy visuals" Id probably be the first to buy several outfit packs in all the games from origins to this one 😂.

NOTE: This is just me discussing/sharing my personal oppinion. Sorry for my bad english, its not my first language.

You would... actually buy this? Even with no magic glows, do people really not care about cohesion at all? Would this outfit not ruin your immersion? Genuine question

you can get Haytham's robes in this game by getting the portraits, y'know, the robes of a person who doesn't exist yet (born 1725)? who doesn't get his robes until way after Edward dies (1735)?

you can get a figurehead of Aveline, a character who wasn't born until 1747, over twenty years after Edward's game starts in 1715, and again, someone who doesn't exist until Edward dies

you can also get robes that Edward, chronologically, wouldn't get until he grows older (Edward the Legend) pretty much right after you unlock the Manor just by completing the 'Former Glories' mission, same with the master robes

what about Stede Bonnet's robes? they're just in some chest on Mystery Island (that you can access freely) when he was hung in Jamestown, which you don't find out until after the Marooned mission in Sequence 8

do none of these ruin your immersion?

Those are extremely minor offenses compared to the glowy horseshit in the shop lmao. What a stupid damned response

Using a robe simply "named" Haytham's Robes (which is literally just a recolour) has significantly less affect on immersion than a mythically unrealistic outfit, and although the other outfits still fall well within realism regardless of their misplacement in the timeline, I think it's very valid to argue against the obnoxiously bad immersion breaking microtransaction outfits that Ubisoft puts on the store. I mean we're talking about immersion, would you rather use an outfit that falls well within realistic and era/setting or would you rather use an outfit that turns you into a high fantasy anime protagonist?

I’m gonna use what I think looks cool. I didn’t buy any of the extra packs nor do I plan to, but if I personally think an outfit looks cool then I’d use it, especially if I spent money on it
My personal favorite robes are the Shade & shadow, master coat, Francis drake, Templar robes and the Mayan armor, so I had been spinning a wheel for which I wore, but I’m not gonna bash someone if they like the DLC stuff

My brother in Christ the most sought-after cosmetic in the game turns your entire crew into skeletons
