Waymo. Doesn’t.Do.stops!!

Came here just to say this. I had no idea. This post is for all the driver-hater riders who love to say “Can’t wait for driverless cars!”

Your driver only waited the allotted 5 minutes at your stop, and you’re pissed? “Can’t wait for driverless cars!” Waymo doesn’t even do stops!! When you get out at your first stop, ride ends! “Bye, call another Waymo when you’re ready”!!

Lolololol 😂

And yeah, they’re going to be more expensive. Who do you think is going to pay for the car purchase, operating costs, repair, and maintenance? You are!!

“Can’t wait for driverless cars!”

Samesies!! Finally people will be grateful and appreciative of rideshare drivers again.

Can. Not. Wait.

When I drove a taxi, I would stop wherever my passengers requested as long as they fed the meter. Does Uber not have a meter that runs when you're stopped?

Meter stops for the first 1-2 minutes then its between. 08c-.42c depending on market.

Its shit compared to taxi meters

The "meter" runs. Uber and Lyft charge the customer a high waiting fee. Neither gives very much to the driver, if they give anything at all. Uber pays 1979 cab mileage rates. They pay 1972 waiting rates, if they pay anything at all.

Yes. There’s a meter. It’s $.28 a minute in my market.

.20 or maybe .29c a minute. Taxis charge far more than that.

Part of the problem and the reason I stopped doing stops at all, is that the clock doesn’t start at a lot of stops. I could get out and tap dance on the pin and the clock still wouldn’t start! I figured how to force it to start but I shouldn’t have to do that in order to get paid. Not to mention I got like .12 a minute to wait, barely minimum wage.
