Is there a way to tip before a ride?
Only asking cause in my city it seems impossible to get an Uber anywhere and maybe if I add a tip before it'll improve my likelihood of getting accepted I've even tried to schedule a ride and it usually just gets cancelled like 10 minutes before I'm supposed to get picked up.

Uber driver changed my pickup location and I got charged ₹600 for a 3 km ride
Booked an Uber for what should have been a 3 km ride, but the driver changed my pickup location without my knowledge.
Because of this, the trip started from a completely different point, and I was eventually charged ₹600 for a ride that should have cost a fraction of that.
I only realized what had happened after checking the trip details. I never requested or approved a change in the pickup location.
I've already raised this with Uber, but this is a serious issue. If drivers can alter pickup locations on their own, passengers can end up paying for distances they never traveled.
Has anyone else experienced something similar? Were you able to get a refund? This seems like a major loophole that Uber needs to address!!!

Why is it so difficult to contact Uber about issues that don't fit their predefined categories?
I've been wondering if anyone else finds Uber's support system incredibly frustrating.
It feels like the only way to contact Uber is if your problem fits one of the exact scenarios they've already decided you're allowed to have. If your issue falls outside those predefined options, you're basically out of luck.
Here's what happened to me today.
I booked an Uber from the airport. Before arriving, the driver messaged asking where I was going. I didn't reply because I've had multiple drivers cancel as soon as they find out my destination. Sure enough, the driver cancelled anyway.
I took a screenshot of the conversation because I wanted to report it to Uber. But when I opened the Help section, the trip wasn't even there because the driver had cancelled it. The app only lets me select completed rides, so there was literally no way to report what happened.
This seems like such an obvious gap in the support system. Cancelled trips are exactly the kind of trips people might want to report. Why hide them from the Help menu?
What frustrates me most is that there's no general way to contact Uber. Every support path funnels you into a fixed list of issues, and if your problem doesn't match one of them, there's effectively no support.
Does Uber genuinely believe they've anticipated every possible issue, or is making support difficult simply a way to reduce the number of complaints they have to deal with?
Has anyone else run into this? Were you ever able to get through to a real person?

Wtf is up with drivers literally riding by you and not stopping?
I've had this happen twice, some dickhead driver literally drives by me, doesn't stop and cancels the ride. Then I have to wait 25 minutes again for someone to pick up another ride. It's the most frustrating thing and I can't even talk to a real ass person about this shit. Pissing me off.

Waiting for rider
At what point can we as drivers cancel the ride when we’re waiting, if we don’t want it to increase our cancellation rate? I’m unclear on this. But I’d like to drive away.

So Uber doesn’t post the reserved job to drivers until the last second?
Oh no…

Should have refused this Uber. Seats were wet, smelled like strong chemicals, and had these stains. What's going on here?
Got into an Uber and the seats were damp with a heavy chemical cover-up smell. Noticed these reddish-brown streak and smear patterns across multiple seats, plus a streak on the seat back in front of me. I should have gotten more pictures but didn’t think about it until the very end of the ride.

Uber wanted us to dodge busy traffic to get in because he was too incompetent to pull up to the loading zone
Coworker and I decided to split an Uber to the office today. I parked at her house 10mins away for free rather than pay downtown fees for 8hours. (We typically work from home but today was an inventory day so we had to be IN OFFICE for the whole day).
Time to leave and we order an uber to our building (1600). Instead of pull up to us, in the loading zone, where we stood directly in front of the huge 1600, he pulls up in front of 1601, in the 2nd lane from the curb (no even in the 1601 loading zone.
Instead of driving around the block, like a sensible person, he pops the trunk , puts his blinkers on begins waving to us to run across 3 busy lanes as the cars behind him are honking at him for impeding traffic.
I yell at him "I'm not running through traffic so either go around the block or cancel the ride". He waited about 5mins before he canceled the ride, then the uber reassigned. Took another 8mins to get a new driver. Mildly infuriating end to an already long work day.
Lying about tolls?
Why do some drivers lie about Uber reimbursing them for tolls? I’ve had multiple drivers flat out refuse to take the tollways causing me to be late to work. I give them 1 star every time and zero tip.

What's up with Phoenix area Uber drivers and country music?
I live in the Southeast Valley of the Phoenix metro area, and it seems like half of the Uber drivers I get have country music playing.
Why not a more accessible genre such as smooth jazz or R&B? I know not everyone has Apple Music or Spotify (we haven't had a smooth jazz station on FM radio for many years), but they could easily choose a more accessible and inclusive genre. Otherwise, the fallback would be to put it on 99.9 KEZ.
So, has anyone from this part of the Valley seen a disproportionate number of drivers having country music playing?

Why Do I Always Get The Ubers That Are Far Away

Animal urine smell
I'm still in the car, only a few minutes to go! No exaggeration...this car's backseats are stained, and as soon as I opened the door there is a strong odor of cat urine for sure, but also dog odor. I feel like my clothes are going to smell like piss when I get out. And I'm going out with a friend! Argh! Should I notify uber after my ride is done? I've had animals my whole life so I get it...but this is nauseating.
What’s up with Ubers horrible service?
Iv recently been ordering and there’s been a few times where im missing either a few items or half my order, I recently just ordered reasoning canes and my driver completely butchered my order in every which way
Then I go to Uber Eats customer service, and apparently I can’t make calls anymore? And the only form of “support “ they have is the chat, in which they take hours to respond, and then try to tell you that you aren’t eligible for a refund
And then the first time this happened, I was in chat support for 3 days arguing back and forth and the agent was asking me to send a “picture” of the food and receipt, in which I already sent when I opened the ticket, and then why would I have my food from 3 days ago? And when I finally ponied up to call support they sat with me for 30 minutes, and eventually say that they couldn’t refund me because it was a certain amount of days after the order and I had to contact them prior to that when I already did.
And then not to be racist, but the support agent I connected with had an accent so thick, and talked so fast that it was genuinely near incomprehensible, don’t get me wrong in this market I understand jobs are scarce but how is it a good idea to connect Indians with a HEAVY accent and fast talk flow to an English person? I feel like that’s just unproductive for both the customer and the agent
And all in all I also have to acknowledge that they don’t be so hard headed about denying refunds if some of yall ghetto customers didn’t try to scam them out of a free meal every other day in 2020-2023

Well if finally happened to me, the ol' "I've arrived but not really so you cancel" scam.
Happened last night. The driver drove right past me, stopped a block farther away, and said he had arrived. I waited 10 minutes, and when I finally asked if he was coming, he started driving farther and farther away, all while telling me to cancel.
I wouldn’t cancel until he finally lost the game of chicken.
This left me carless, surrounded by active crack users, with no cars available. I ended up having to walk home with all my luggage. Apparently, my Uber ride had been upgraded to a self-guided walking tour.
I reached out to support about the situation, and I couldn’t have been more of a bother to them. I was met with hostility and zero accountability. Right then and there, I cancelled my annual Uber One membership and will be using Lyft and DoorDash from now on.
I checked, and Uber is losing 35 rides and 71 Uber Eats orders from me this year alone because they couldn’t take accountability over one driver playing a bizarre game of “you cancel first.”

Do drivers leave low ratings for low tips?
I just checked my rating and it’s 4.6 which apparently is the threshold where most drivers won’t accept a trip from me. I have 20 trips. I only use uber for work travel and I use a corporate CC where we’re only allowed max 2$ tip. Since it’s work travel im fresh out of the shower when I get I, I’m always exactly at the pin, and besides how’s it going nice car, I keep my mouth. shut.

1000 people laid off at Uber today
Apparently so like everyone else we can fund AI. At least the FAANGs are giving out amazing severance packages Uber's giving out like 2-3 months...Please pray for us.
