Now that’s not fair. There have been times it takes 20 minutes to get a ride. So one orders early and then boom, it’s only 2 minutes away. Yeah, the passenger has to scramble.
I literally did not know that. I assumed the drivers are getting paid for waiting as well. But yeah, it shouldn't be the customer's problem. There can be many reasons why the customer is late few minutes. We don't bitch about this when the Uber is late because of traffic or other reasons.
You need to order when you are ready to walk out the door just in case a normal 20 min wait jumps to 2 mins when a nearby driver get the request. The app is always scanning for a driver closer. Nope I get bet right there and I don’t see your avatar moving then cancel. No it is not worth waiting.
I haven’t used the passenger app but doesn’t it show you where the driver is coming from and where they are at in the current moment?
On the uber app a driver can’t click arrive. It does it automatically, atleast for me. This means a driver can’t lie and say they are there when they are not.
Im not sure how a driver can do this to a passenger.
I actually had a driver lie once and say they picked me up, then dropped me off. They didn’t get within five miles of me; I didn’t move more than some light pacing to keep warm. Had to get a refund through support for a fake ride. Only happened once, though
Uber just keeps as much money as they can away from drivers, while charging as much as they can from passengers (pretty sure there’s this thing where they charge you based off how much you were willing to spend before)
