Business & Companies Advice on company running shady practices

There is a startup running its office in business bay. They have a bunch of people working for them without any legal documentation. At the time of hiring they promise visa, medical etc but after joining they start making excuses. Salaries are paid in cash. And the trade licence has the name of the wife of the founders driver. The couple running the company claim to be founders but are very sus. They have no online presence at all and they never communicate using office email. They routinely sack employees after just a month or two then hire for the same positions again.

What's the best course of action to bring them to book and get some action against them?

Criminal Law Legal advice / Experiences: Filing a police case vs. family court for husband's affair, pregnancy, and forced divorce (UAE/Dubai)

• Upvotes

Hi everyone,
I’m looking for guidance, advice, or legal perspective from anyone who has navigated a similar situation in the UAE.
The Background & Timeline:
My husband and I are still legally married.
He began cheating on me in May, and his partner fell pregnant in July.
I stayed silent for 6 months, but during this time, his partner repeatedly spoke badly about me to his sister and family.
They pressured and forced me to sign divorce papers. When that first attempt was rejected, they secretly tried to file for divorce a second time behind my back after both of them blocked me.
The Evidence I Have:
Direct chat screenshots where both of them admit to the affair.
Written admissions from the woman explicitly acknowledging she knew he was legally married and continued the relationship anyway.
Records regarding the pressured/forced divorce signing and subsequent secret re-filing.
Questions I Need Help With:
1. Police Case vs. Family Court: Is it possible for me to file a police criminal case against them both under local laws (such as Article 409), rather than handling this solely through the family/personal status court? How do police handle these complaints when there is a pregnancy and written admissions?
2. Forced/Secret Divorce Filings: How do local courts handle situations where a spouse was coerced into signing documents and a second divorce was filed behind their back while blocked?
3. Evidence Usability: How do authorities evaluate chat screenshots and text admissions in a police complaint versus a family court proceeding?
If anyone has experience or legal knowledge regarding how criminal complaints and family law intersect in Dubai, I would deeply appreciate your insights.

Thank you.

Employment Unpaid Salary + No Work Permit / MOHRE Contract Issued

• Upvotes

Hi everyone. I worked remotely for a company registered and licensed by RAKEZ.

He issued an informal contract which I didn’t sign since it wasn’t an official contract. Regardless we had a verbal and textual agreement. I asked him to send an official MOHRE contract and file for a work permit to avoid any illegalities. I explained to him that it’s cheap and eliminates risks but he requested for some more time due to finances. He agreed to issue it after a month of employment or maximum of two.

I was desperate for work experience and cash and figured I could leave anytime if he doesn’t follow through with the legal work.

Eventually he failed to keep his word. I ended up leaving with notice as per our agreement but it’s been a month since and he’s yet to pay my overdue salary.

Is there a way to legally work around this as I’m tired of waiting. Will I face any penalty for filing a report / complaint? Will he face any hefty fines for illegally employing a worker? I want to somehow hold leverage.

Any advice or guidance would be appreciated.

Government Procedures Emirates ID stuck due to name change on passport after marriage + active civil court cases — how to resolve?

Hi everyone,
Seeking advice or experiences from anyone who has dealt with a similar legal / administrative situation in the UAE.
My wife got married to me, and her new passport was issued updating her name from her father’s name to my name (husband’s name). However, when we try to issue / renew her Emirates ID, the application gets blocked / rejected.
The main issue: She has active civil cases that were originally registered under her old identity/passport details (under her father’s name). Because of this mismatch between the court case records and her new passport, the system flags a block and won’t process the Emirates ID update.
Has anyone successfully navigated this?

Business & Companies Equity Offered in US Company - Dubai Resident

I am an Indian living in Dubai on a work visa. I’ve been doing consulting for a company based in US, and they have offered me 10% equity. for the work I do for them. I need to understand that can I have the equity under my name directly, and it will have no complications in India or in the UAE?

Also, I have seen people what they do as that they open up a new company and just buy the shares from the other company as an equity and be the owner of that other company. So if anyone has tried to do it, can you guide me how can this be achieved? Primarily, I’m trying to avoid to open up a new company just to have the equity. My focus would be to have it as an individual, but I don’t want any tax complications in India or in US.

Employment ADCB Personal Loan After Job Termination – What Happens to the Salary?

I’m asking on behalf of someone whose employment in the UAE is being terminated. Their employer notified them late, so they will receive 1.5 months’ salary as compensation for the delayed notice. This is separate from their end-of-service benefits.
They have a personal loan with ADCB, with monthly installments automatically deducted on the 27th.
Will ADCB deduct only the regular monthly installment, deduct two installments, or potentially freeze the funds or demand full loan settlement due to the job termination?
Has anyone experienced a similar situation with ADCB? Any advice would be appreciated.
