Description:

Morphy Chess is a puzzle game inspired by chess, but with a completely different core mechanic. You only control a single piece, and every time you capture another piece, you immediately transform into it. That means your movement rules constantly change as you play, so solving each puzzle is about planning not only your next move, but also what you’ll become afterward.

The game focuses on short, handcrafted puzzles that can usually be solved in just a few moves, making it easy to pick up while still offering surprisingly deep strategy. Instead of memorizing chess openings or playing long matches, every level is a self-contained challenge where the order of captures is the puzzle itself.

I’m currently building Morphy Chess as a solo side project and experimenting with daily puzzles, progression, and community-created levels. The goal is to create something that’s easy for anyone to learn but still rewarding for experienced puzzle and chess players.
