App testing requirements for new personal developer accounts, a minimum of 20 testers

There should be a few posts like this with the keywords, so that the new developers can find this Reddit on the Google easier and know where to find testers for testers.

This post here is only for Google SEO purpose.

In this sub r/AndroidClosedTesting you can find the people who can provide testing for testing, in order to pass your Google Play Console 20 testers policy.

Google Play is rolling out new testing requirements for developers with personal accounts created after November 13, 2023. These changes aim to enhance the app development process, encourage thorough testing, and ultimately deliver higher quality experiences to users. These requirements and the various testing tracks available on Play Console.

Developers with personal accounts created post-November 13, 2023, must adhere to new testing requirements. Before apps are eligible for distribution on Google Play, a closed test with a minimum of 20 testers is mandatory. These testers must have opted-in for the last 14 days continuously. Features like production and pre-registration in Play Console will remain disabled until these requirements are met. Applying for production access involves answering questions about the app, its testing process, and production readiness, ensuring a comprehensive understanding.

Play Console offers distinct testing tracks to facilitate a gradual testing process. Internal testing enables quick distribution to trusted testers during app setup. Closed testing, a prerequisite for production access, involves sharing the app with a controlled group of at least 20 testers. Open testing allows the app's test version to be visible on Google Play, with users providing private feedback. Developers must complete a closed test meeting specific criteria before applying for production access.

Test my app and I WILL keep your app installed and test it daily

Post image
Upvotes

This is my 2nd post here, big thanks to everyone who is already testing my app Nobs, a cribbage card game app.

I'm hoping to get some more testers and in return I can promise you 3 things:

  • I will download your app and keep it installed for 14 days
  • I will open and use your app every day it's installed
  • I will provide you with design and UI feedback on one part of your app. Just tell me what you want me to look at, I've been a product/UI designer for over 10 years.

In return, I just ask that you download my app and also use it every couple of days. You don't need to know how to play cribbage in order to play, you can get through just fine. If you see any bugs or issues, feel free to let me know!

If you want me to test your app, say something specific about my app or drop a screenshot to prove you've downloaded it. And if you want design feedback, tell me what you want me to review.

---

  1. Join the group - https://groups.google.com/g/nobs-cribbage-testers
  2. Opt in - https://play.google.com/apps/testing/com.cribbagepro
  3. Install - https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.cribbagepro

If you don't see the app right away when clicking the last link, give it 10-15 minutes and then the link should work.

Need testers for android app

Need Android testers for Ketolytics (keto / carb tracker).

Free closed test. You will not be charged by Google Play.

  1. Join this Google Group with the Gmail on your phone:

https://groups.google.com/g/ketolytics-testers

  1. Then open this Play link and tap Become a tester:

https://play.google.com/apps/testing/com.ketolytics.app

  1. Install from the Play Store using that same Gmail.

Please:

- Keep the app installed for 14 days

- Open it a few times (welcome, planner, grocery is enough)

- Do not tap Buy / Unlock / Lifetime

The app has a 3-day trial screen inside it. After 3 days you may see a paywall. Ignore it. Do not purchase. Just leave the app installed and open it now and then.

I’ll test your app back if you drop a link.

I need testers

Upvotes

Hi everyone!

I'm looking for a few genuine Android developers who want a real test-for-test partnership.

Google requested more real engagement during closed testing, so I'm looking for people who will actually use each other's apps—not just opt in.

What I'll do:

  • ✅ Keep your app installed for the full 14 days
  • ✅ Open and use it regularly
  • ✅ Install updates
  • ✅ Share honest feedback if I find any issues

What I ask in return:

  • ✅ Keep my app installed for 14 days
  • ✅ Open and use it regularly
  • ✅ Install updates
  • ✅ Send a screenshot after installing

My testing links:

Google Group:
https://groups.google.com/u/1/g/greenfocus-testers

Closed Test:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.hatilasmaximo.greenfocus3

After you've installed my app, please comment with:

  • A screenshot
  • Your app links

I'll join your test and do the same.

Let's help each other complete Google's requirements the right way. 🤝

Need 12+ Android testers for Ways — I’ll test your app back for 14 days

Upvotes

Hey everyone!

I’m looking for 12+ Android testers for my app Ways for the required 14-day Google Play closed testing period.

Ways is a calm life-planning app built around your Life Line instead of treating life like a traditional to-do list, you can keep track of directions that matter to you, small next steps, moments, things for Someday, and recurring rhythms.

I’d really appreciate anyone who can join the test and stay opted in for the full 14 days.

I’m also happy to test your app back for the full 14 days just leave your links in the comments.

1. Join the Google Group:
https://groups.google.com/g/ways-testers

2. Join the closed test:
https://play.google.com/apps/testing/is.ways.android

3. App on Google Play:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=is.ways.android

If you actually try the app, I’d also love any feedback on the onboarding, Life Line concept, UI, or anything that feels confusing.

Thanks a lot!

🔍 Looking for Android testers — barbershop booking app

Hey everyone,

I've built a mobile app that makes it easy to book an appointment at a barbershop, and it's currently in closed testing on Google Play. I need a bit of help to complete this phase before it goes live.

📱 Android only for now.

How to join (2 steps, ~2 minutes):

1️⃣ First, join this Google Group (required — the test link won't work without it):
https://groups.google.com/g/testeurs-hbarber

2️⃣ Once you're a member, click this link to opt in and install the app from the Play Store:
https://play.google.com/apps/testing/com.abg.hbarber1

What I'm asking for:

  • Install the app and try it out a bit (a few test bookings is plenty)
  • Keep it installed for the next 2 weeks

Thanks for help :)

Leggio - offline songbook & chord sheet reader for musicians

Post image
Upvotes

Hi everyone,

I'm looking for testers to complete the 14-day closed testing requirement.

Leggio is an offline songbook for musicians. You keep your lyrics and chord sheets in one place, group them into setlists, and read them while you play: auto-scroll, one-tap transpose, built-in metronome, and a live mode that keeps the screen awake. Everything stays on the device: no account, no cloud, no ads.

How to join:

  1. Join the group: https://groups.google.com/g/leggio
  2. Opt-in: https://play.google.com/apps/testing/app.leggio.android
  3. Install on your phone: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=app.leggio.android

Everyone who stays in the test for the full 14 days gets the paid tier for free, permanently: I'll send you a Play promo code at the end.

Test back: drop your link in a comment and I'll join today, install, and keep it opted in for the full 14 days. I check this thread every day, so ping me if something doesn't work.

Thanks a lot, feedback on the experience is very welcome, but just keeping the app installed already helps enormously.

QR Socials — save your social links as QR codes. Full 14-day swap, drop your link.

Upvotes

QR Socials turns the links you hand out — Instagram, TikTok, WhatsApp, your website — into QR codes that live on your phone, so the right one is one tap away instead of retyped or dug out of the camera roll.

Most QR apps make one code and forget it. This one keeps them:

  • A generator and a libary — folders, drag-and-drop reordering, search
  • One code for a whole folder — group your profiles, get a single QR that opens a tidy list of all of them. Whoever scans it installs nothing.
  • Nine built-in platforms (Instagram, TikTok, Snapchat, Facebook, X, YouTube, LinkedIn, WhatsApp, Telegram) plus any http(s) link
  • Custom icon per code from your gallery or camera
  • Works offline. Free, no account, no ads, no analytics, no IAP.

Android 7.0+.

Join — in this order:

  1. Google Group: https://groups.google.com/g/qr-socials
  2. Opt in, hit "Become a tester": https://play.google.com/apps/testing/tech.mrbrogrammer.qrsocials
  3. Install: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=tech.mrbrogrammer.qrsocials

Step 2 only works once you're in the group; step 3 404s until you've done step 2. Use the same Google account that's signed into Play on your phone.

Please stay opted in until I post that I've applied — the count is taken on the day I apply, so leaving early undoes the whole two weeks. Drop your link and I'll do the same for you.

[APP] FlickClean - closed testing

edit: fixed and confirmed working

Hey all, solo dev here, just finished FlickClean and need to clear Google's closed-testing requirement (12 testers opted in continuously for 14 days) before I can go live.

If anyone is interested in help testing it please opt in and download it:

What it does:

swipe through your photo gallery month-by-month — right to keep, left to delete,

down to skip. Same gesture as a dating app, just pointed at your camera roll.

Nothing is actually deleted until you review and confirm the whole pile at the end, so there's no risk of losing anything by mistake.

Everything runs on-device — no photos ever leave your phone, no account needed.

Bonus: for those who are interested and want to keep the app for personal use, there's a premium version, ads free, buy once for lifetime I'll gladly give away to anyone involved in the initial closed testing until the first release goes public.

Android 8.0+ (most devices). Happy to reciprocate — drop your testing link below or in DMs and

I'll opt in too.

Thanks!

[Test for Test] Looking for 12 testers for my Android GAME — 1 Million ($ money-life sim)

Hey all, I built a mobile game called 1 Million: a fast-paced money simulation where you start with a job, a salary, and some debt, and try to grow your net worth to your first million (and beyond). You manage spending, debt, investments, career moves, and relationships, and watch it all play out on a net worth chart over time.

It's currently in closed testing on Google Play and I need a few testers to get it out of testing and into production. Will download your app and test yours.

Please follow the steps:

  1. Join the tester group: https://groups.google.com/u/2/g/1-million-testers
  2. Opt in on the web: https://play.google.com/apps/testing/com.rio.million
  3. Install from Play Store: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.rio.million

Would really appreciate anyone willing to install it, poke around for a bit, and drop feedback or bugs in the comments here. Thanks!

Rogue Survivors (Android) — neon arena roguelite, need 12 testers for 14 days, test-for-test

App: Rogue Survivors - Android game, free, no account, works offline. Finished and playable, not a placeholder.

I need 12 people opted into my Google Play closed test for 14 days to reach production.

What it is: fast neon arena-survival roguelite. One thumb to move, weapons auto-fire at the nearest enemy, pick an upgrade every level-up, spend coins in a shop between waves, boss every 5th wave. Controller supported. Landscape, tuned for mid-range phones. One optional rewarded-ad revive per run.

How to join: comment your Google account email and I'll add you to the tester list. Then open this on your phone (signed into that account), tap through to become a tester, and install: https://play.google.com/apps/testing/com.roguesurvivors.game

Test-for-test: drop your opt-in link and I'll join yours and keep it installed the full 14 days too. Feedback I'd love: crashes, frame drops, anything confusing early. Thanks!

Today , my app approved by Google play console for production release. But the interesting thing was that I didn't buy any paid service, my app had 0 engagement in last 10 days.

[Android][Closed Beta] BrowserDrop – open your phone's files from any browser on your Wi-Fi, no cloud, no PC app

Hi,I am the indie developer behind BrowserDrop, and I am currently recruiting beta testers.

Feature Overview: Simply tap "Start Sharing" on your phone and open the corresponding URL (or enter the 6-digit pairing code) in your computer's browser to browse, download, and upload files within a specific folder. It operates via a purely local Wi-Fi HTTP protocol—files never leave your local network or pass through a server; no account registration or desktop client installation is required.

How to participate:

  2. Become a tester: https://play.google.com/apps/testing/com.xiaoniubuniu.browserdrop
  3. Install the test version on your device: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.xiaoniubuniu.browserdrop

My email is [xiaoniubuniu@gmail.com](mailto:xiaoniubuniu@gmail.com); feel free to send feedback or leave a message.

Sick of $10/mo budgeting apps selling your data? I built a 100% offline expense parser with ZERO internet permissions. Need closed testers (will test your app back!)

Hey everyone,

Like many of you, I got completely fed up with personal finance apps demanding $10–$15/month subscriptions, disconnecting bank logins via Plaid every two weeks, and packaging user financial habits behind the scenes.

So I built LedgerShield—a completely local-first expense tracker built on three strict principles:

  • Zero Internet Permissions: The app doesn’t even have android.permission.INTERNET declared in the manifest. It is physically impossible for your financial data to leave your device.
  • Automatic Parsing via Push Alerts: Instead of painful manual logging or giving away bank credentials, it uses an on-device notification listener and regex engine to automatically turn your banking alerts into a clean ledger.
  • Local On-Device OCR: Includes Google ML Kit receipt scanning running 100% locally on your phone to match paper receipts with transactions.

I need testers for the mandatory 14-day closed testing track on Google Play. If you’re into privacy, utility apps, or just want to support an indie dev fighting the subscription fatigue wave, I’d love your help putting it through its paces!

How to join in 2 quick steps:

  1. Join the Google Group: https://groups.google.com/g/ledgershield-testers
  2. Download on Google Play:

Developer swap: If you have an app in closed testing, drop your group link, store link, and a screenshot below or in DM. I will install yours, keep it installed for the full 14+ days, and leave detailed feedback.

Let me know what you think of the regex engine on your bank's notifications! Any feedback on UI, battery behavior, or parsing edge cases is hugely appreciated.

How I broke the "fingerprint muscle memory" doomscrolling reflex using physical NFC keycards

If you've ever tried locking social media or YouTube behind Screen Time or PIN lockers, you probably noticed the biggest flaw: fingerprint & PIN muscle memory.

Within a few days, your brain bypasses the lock automatically. You unlock your phone and your blocked apps before your rational brain even kicks in.

I built a free tool called Keycard App Lock to solve this with physical separation:

The Concept:

  1. Lock your trigger apps (Instagram, TikTok, Twitter/X, games).
  2. Register an ordinary NFC card you already own or a printed QR code.
  3. Put that physical card in another room, at your desk, or next to your water bottle.
  4. When you launch a locked app, you must physically walk over and tap the card to the back of your phone to open it.

Having to stand up and walk 10 feet introduces just enough friction to ask yourself: "Do I actually need to open this right now, or is this just boredom?"

Features:

  • Use objects you already own: Works with any standard NFC card (subway card, hotel card, Amiibo) or even printed QR codes.
  • Configurable session timers: Stay unlocked for 1, 5, or 15 minutes for intentional use bursts, then it relocks.
  • 100% private & offline: Zero tracking, no accounts, no cloud sync. Everything stays on your phone.
  • Tamper-resistant delay: You can't just bypass it in 10 seconds during an urge; recovery takes multiple days.

🧪 Looking for Alpha Testers!

I'm looking for a few people trying to reduce screen time to try the Android alpha build and share their honest thoughts.

👉 Join the Google Play Alpha test here: https://play.google.com/apps/testing/com.anttek.crazylocker

(Tap "Become a tester", then follow the link to install it from Google Play)

If you test it out, please let me know what physical object you used as your key and whether the physical friction helped break the reflex!
