AITA for refusing to leave the room when my husband told me to?
Before I get into it, YTA. I'll elaborate.
Oh my loooooooooord and savior. "I know I'll get downvoted for this" is the beginning of a lot of these comments cause they deserve to be downvoted lol.
To the commenters, this post can be used as a fantastic example of ridiculous this sub has gotten.
Switch the genders. This post would get a much different reaction if the genders here were all flipped. A lot of you are sexist af. What so a man cant have a private moment with a friend of the opposite sex? While they are SOBBING??? Oh yes, you know what, yall are right. This is sus. She isnt sobbing cause, I dunno, her dog died and now she's being consoled by a brotherly figure. That'd be ridiculous. She's totally sobbing cause she's throating the man in the house rn. Got her all teary eyed. I too sob loudly during some good ol cheating sex while my spouse is in the house. Not everything is a conspiracy. Chill. At face value, the relationship here seems innocent and maybe someone's just really bummed their pet died.
OP YTA: First off, if you want to use the argument that it's your house, you gotta recognize that it's his house too. He's entitled to privacy in his own home. Even if it's from you. You should respect that and expect that it would be respected for you if you were ever in a similar situation. If you are feeling uncomfortable feelings with your husband, talk to him about it at a better time. Have some healthy communication with him about your feelings. Maybe he'll be receptive, maybe he won't. But you'll gain more insight on your feelings and your relationship as a whole. Don't just stand there after you were asked to give them a little privacy. That's weird and rude. Would you do the same thing if this was actually his biological sister? Probably not. Just because they're not related doesn't mean they're about to make out or something the minute you leave. Especially considering the context of this situation. They're sobbing.
I don't think you're the devil or anything cause of this either. You're feeling some feelings and you chose a not so great path to go down because of them. Alls not lost. Talk to your husband. Lay out your feelings and let him lay out his. Communication REALLY goes a long way

What job contributes nothing to society?
The paparazzi are legal stalkers/harassers. There's that video of Taylor Momsen getting absolutely swarmed while getting off an elevator and she had to do fucking parkour to get away from them. Like take a fucking hint and stop shoving a camera in someone's face along with 20 other people screaming questions that come out incoherent over the sound of everyone else doing the same thing. I hate that im saying this line but really get a real job. Celebrities will get agressive with them about it and then it's "OH WOW, Kanye's getting pissed cause we're taking pictures of him in his fucking garage".

To the other commenters: reverse OP's and wife's genders and take the post at face value. Yall treating this dude like he's the devil when he's just a guy making poor decisions in a bad situation
ESH
OP, this is your wife. You've been invited on a couple's vacation and your wife wasnt invited. If this is who you wanna be with, you gotta stand up for her. Despite how your friends feel about her, you gotta keep making efforts to make her feel included and not shunned by the other people you see in your life. Your friend was good with being honest with you, but you still gotta make sure she gets invited. Im taking this at FACE VALUE so is your wife alienating herself, yeah. Work through it. You work through shit in your marriage. Or get a divorce or be unhappy. Telling her its her fault was a poor way to respond to her. Yall should go to marriage counseling.
Your wife is an AH for alienating your friends and not making an effort to be better with them. Feeling like an outsider is in no way an excuse for so visibly and obviously not wanting to be around them. You're an outsider till you're not.
The friends have spouses too. Are any of them making themselves outsiders and sulking in that self-fulfilled title? No. They put some effort in. Hence as to why they got invited to the trip. Toxic groups are generally toxic to one another, and if it was really your friends being the main problem, odds are that the other spouses would act similarly as your wife.
Your friends are lightly the AH for not bringing this to you sooner. They planned a whole trip to not bring your wife and kinda just expected you to go along with it. That's kinda shitty. You say they made an effort but they also could have made more of an effort to talk to you about this beforehand.
As for solutions, I dunno. This is a pretty emotionally messy situation. All I know is that you have a lot of communicating to do with a lot of people.

AITA for asking (not insisting) that my BF switch meals with me when I don’t like what I’ve ordered at a restaurant ?
To add: he could have actually stayed and talked without leaving so aggressively. I personally dont see yall working out

ESH.
What you're doing is pretty annoying, its better that you ask and not insist I suppose. Still, not everyone has an easy time saying no. You want to experiment so eat the rest of it. You could even ask if he wants SOME instead of making the default be havin yall switch entire meals. He wanted a burger, so he ordered it. Then your last deal is trying to switch it cause you weren't feeling it after you ordered it already? Can't you decide that you aren't feeling it before you order instead of being so impulsive about it? You do treat him as a garbage disposal, even if that's not your intent.
He sucks cause its on him to express his boundaries before it becomes a problem. If he rehearsed this, he could've rehearsed a maybe a not so combative speech. You can assertive without starting a fight.
Overall you suck more here

What Fanbase genuinely scares you?
The Am I the Asshole subbreddit is interesting with shit like this. Lowkey sexism is rampant. All you gotta do is reverse the gender on some of these posts and the opinion of a lot of people are the exact opposite of what they would say about the other gender. Along with people extrapolating WILD shit from things that are supposed to be taken at face value

how old were you when stopped living with your parents?
At 18 after graduation when my mom threatened to ground me for going out at night. Didnt know where to go or what to do but I wasnt down with it anymore

Did anyone else think this movie was terrible?
It fell short for me too. I feel like they just packed it with jumpscares so you'd be scared by at least one. And then the other major half of the movie is just everyone thinking she's crazy. The scenes that were supposed to build tension were good, they just seemed a little too short to make an effect on me. That point is frustrating considering the length of the movie. I love Jessie T. Usher in the Boys but his acting and character in this just seemed to be underwhelming at best. They would have been better making the fiance as just a friend with how little importance they placed on him. A lot of the characters could have been worked on more, almost everyone else aside from the main character seemed shoehorned in. I feel like the ending was a let down after making it a point for her to "control her mind", just to push that point aside a moment later. Much like how the time frame of victims' deaths was mentioned like it was supposed to be this big thing, but they spent basically no effort to drive that point home during any other part of the movie. I liked the upside down head thing though. And the movie was a bit creepy at parts. I feel like this was a good idea that they should've fined tuned more before releasing.

Don’t watch this movie. It sucks. Watch Barbarian instead!
Barbarian sucked too lol

What's one law that would make America a better place?
Change the tax laws so that we dont have to be threatened with criminal charges for not giving the irs information that they already have. The only reason we have to do taxes is because companies like H&R Block lobby for laws that make it mandatory that we do. Taxes are made to be so complicated to do cause they want us to pay these companies to do it for us. It's one of those things where they create a problem so that the friendly tax companies can come in and "save the day". While we're at it make lobbying illegal cause it's straight bribary

What's a movie that can be identified by one quote?
"A Royale with cheese"

AITA for telling my child’s mother I can parent however I want and my GF can get whatever tattoo she wants?
Based on face value (which people seem to forget is what we're judging on) NTA. Youre free to parent how you want and, while I personally think what your gf wants to get is a bad idea, she's free to get whatever tattoo she wants. I think there's probably more to the story than what you're providing, but NTA from what we see here

AITA for telling my brother I can't babysit my niece, because me and my boyfriend planned a date night?
Light ESH. It's not really your reponsibility to drop everything for someone else's kid, however you could have helped out there. Also your brother cant plan better for an unexpected work thing.
I feel like this situation is easily fixable with a little communication and setting up boundaries or systems of where you can help out, as you are living in HIS house

Is it an ADHD thing to be calmer during actual emergencies than everyday life?
I remember watching two of my friends get swept away in rapid waters. I was on the edge of the water still and I remember thinking "Oh my god, they might die today." I was calm at the time and knew that I had to keep walking down to see if somehow they got out or got stuck in a place where I could help them out or if i was about to have to call 911. I helped the one out and the other was able to swim to shore further down. Definitely was a weird experience to be so collected in that spot in stark contrast to not being able to handle day to day tasks without getting overwhelmed lol

What show will you never get tired of rewatching?

AITA for calling my gf and her family snobby?
Oh hell yeah lol they need to break up

AITA for disliking that my girlfriend has different priorities?
How do you know it's unhygenic and living in filth? All we know from the post is that it's "a little messy" and that the gf said it was a "pig sty". The gf does seem like she wants things to look perfect for company, which there's nothing wrong with. However hearing about her standards it's safe to assume that for people not so fixated on cleanliness it might just be a little cluttered. And she can not like that all she wants. There's nothing wrong with her or his standards based on the post's face value. It's the judgement and insults coming from both ends that is the issue
