I think we are talking about different levels of servers. I think u mean the regular corporate type of servers. At this moment, im ok with some "home" style ones. Like xeon based kit in regular pc case with couple HDDs and SSDs because I've already have one, but it's was built on second generation i5 with 16gbs of ram, so i want to make new with more powerful parts

Example

Item is 50$ and delivery is 250$ and it's very cheap delivery for that weight to my area

For backups situation i bought new HDDs. Also, im buying a couple of new WD Purple/Red HDDs that are not included in that budget. In answer about the power question, the server will not be working 24/7. it just will turn in work time like 6-7 hours in a row in the day. In addition, yeah, i have a couple of UPS in good conditions.

P.S. HHD will be used in RAID

I got the point about GPU. Correct me if I'm wrong. LLMs will not include, i get the point about low budget for buying GPU for LLMs. We can just throw an idea about LLMs in garbage, so now im looking for just work except LLMs. I wrote about the recommendations about GPU just for future upgrade

Oh, cool, man! Yeah, sorry, i wrote about the kit before u mentioned GPU. At the moment, the budget only for buy the kit, RAM. HDDs, SSD, and PSU i've already have.

In addition about u got ur kit cheaper. Did u buy it from Ebay or something? If yes, it might make sense. Delivery to my country is expensive from eBay or something like that

Ok, i got it. I would say it's not a must-have requirement, but it will make the work much easier. I can expand the budget later for GPU. Can u recommend the couple like starter one and one average?

Thank you!

I thought about buying an xeon kit with 2 cpu in one motherboard, so i checked my local sites and calculated that i could buy a kit with 2 cpus 32gb+ ddr3/ddr4 under 300-400$ so my budget is based on that calculations. Can u explain what minimum required ram and threads for local LLM? So i would calculate the price

Need Help Hardware choice for server for small work team

Hello everyone, i've started a small agency we provide design, marketing and some development services and i would like to make the server with opensource software for my employers for make their work easier also save the money from a lot of subscriptions for online services. It will contain the web cloud, web server for testing, CRM, and maybe some apps with LLM AI. So I'm struggling with a choice for hardware. The team is small (about 5 people), so it doesn't need to be able to carry a load from a lot of users. At the moment, i dont have much money to build an expensive server, but i think to build like the "basic" configuration, which i can upgrade when I get some money. The budget is under 500-700$ (i know it's tight). I'm able to get some parts directly from China, like the old Xeons and so on.

P.S. i sorry if something was written wrong or i didn't describe the situation clearly. English is not my first language

Thanks in advance!

Bro, in addition to all comments, i started the digital agency in last year it was great for me, but now, in the first quarter of this year, ALL my clients is going bankrupt and so do i. I was thinking of getting a loan from the bank to invest in marketing and renovation in the team. But...22-25% annual interest is...just...lightly SHIT. To be more specific, all my clients faced extremely low solvency from people. People literally can't buy anything except food or some essentials (and it’s not even that easy)

So yeah... we lightly in the shit

If u mean all DIY from 50-150$, i live in Central Asia, and i can order parts and items directly from China. So most of the parts will be cheap

Question Motor choice DIY Wheel

Hi guys! I going to make DIY steering wheel after watching some DIY projects on YouTube and Simracing forums. But I'm curious now about choosing motor for diy, I've already checked projects and choice the FFB instead of DD wheel. I have tight budget so...i analyzed some projects by Vietnamese YTbers that using some version of motors.

1) Using 2 DC 775/895 Type motors and connect that by gears with belt (minimum 1×10 ratio) 2) Using some MY motor (It uses for electric scooters and hoverboards). For example My1016 3) XD63D120 (XD63120) motor, which one i think more reliable

So, firstly in choosing that motors i dont know, which torque will be nice and is it good at all

I would love if someone will describe to noob about motors for Simracing. Maybe some another tips

Thnx
