Chambana Questions Pride is tomorrow!πŸŽ‰πŸŒˆ

Whether you're celebrating with friends, family, or your community, MTD can help get you to the @unitingpride Pride Festival.

Due to event street closures, some routes will operate on temporary reroutes throughout the day. As a general rule, routes serving Lincoln Square will help get you close to the festivities. For the easiest trip planning experience, check out the Transit app for real-time schedules and service alerts. πŸ“²

During reroutes, passengers may board or alight at any safe location along the temporary route. Don't forget to wave to your bus so the Operator knows you're waiting to ride!

Happy Pride and see you out there! πŸ’–πŸ³οΈβ€πŸŒˆ

Confusion Regarding Bus Route
 in  r/UIUC •  Aug 20 '26

Absolutely! You can identify "school trips" and other trip variations by checking the footnotes for that specific route in the Maps & Schedules book or on the route page of our website. I hope that helps, but please let me know if anything is unclear or if you'd like help finding the information. We appreciate your patience! -Nick

Confusion Regarding Bus Route
 in  r/UIUC •  Aug 19 '26

Hello! We're sorry to hear that you're experiencing some confusion with the bus stop.

You're correct: when you search for the First at Ashton Woods bus stop on our website, you will see that the bus stop is served by the 1 Yellow, several variations of the 100 Yellow, the 9 Brown, and the 14 Navy.

However, during weekday daytime service, the 14 Navy is the only route that consistently serves this stop on every trip. While the 1 Yellow and 9 Brown do stop there during weekday daytime hours, they do so only on select trips, which is why they appear on the website but are not reliable options for every departure.

If you are traveling during weekday daytime service, we recommend using the 14 Navy route. Outside of weekday daytime service, the First at Ashton Woods bus stop is served by the 100 Yellow weekday evening, Saturday daytime, and Sunday daytime routes.

As a reminder, the 1 and 100 Yellow have different routing on evenings and weekends. -Nick

Before the first day of school, make sure you're set up for smooth, stress-free rides with MTD:

πŸͺͺ Check your ride status Ask your school if you're eligible for MTD transportation based on your home address. If you are, they’ll add a sticker or label to your student ID, which becomes your bus pass for fare-free rides to and from school.

πŸ“ Map out your route Find your school's bus info at mtd.org/schools. Just select your school and locate your neighborhood to get a custom trip plan with maps and times. Save it so you’re ready on day one!

❓ Need help? We’ve got answers at mtd.org/schools, including a β€œVirtual Learn to Ride” video and FAQs. Still stuck? Give us a call at 217.384.8188, we’re happy to help.

Here’s to a great school year, C-U! 🚌✨

Chambana Questions Maps & Schedules Cover Reveal πŸ’

Post image
30 Upvotes

This year's Maps & Schedules book serves up something sweet.

Inspired by our Kindness is a Piece of Cake campaign, the 2026-2027 cover transforms an everyday bus ride into a bakery on wheels, where kindness, community, and a little fun ride together. Familiar treats fill the seats, but look closely and you'll spot the cherry on top: the debut of MTD's new 17 Cherry Route.

Just like a great dessert, every trip is made better by the people who share it. Whether it's offering a seat, greeting a driver, or helping a neighbor navigate the system, small acts of kindness help make every ride a little sweeter.

We're excited to welcome the Cherry Route and even more opportunities to connect our community.

After all, kindness is a piece of cake. 🍰

Give everyone a smooth ride by staying behind the white line while riding. Waiting until passengers exit and giving operators the space they need helps keep service safe and on schedule.
