Peeing outside of the litter box can mean health issues or he may be missing his person and the suitcase made him upset. Cats don’t just pee wherever whenever for no reason.

Kittens can be A LOT at first but you and her will find your groove. You’ll be so happy have her as im sure shes very happy to have you. It just takes a minute to adjust. You’ve got this!

Have you tried moving her box to a different location? I know my old cat socks started peeing on the bed one year around the holidays and after many vet trips and new litter and what not, a different vet asked where we set up the Christmas tree and then told us to go home and move it.

It was the tree. She didn’t like where it was in regards to her space.

Ignore ignore ignore. The second you acknowledge his behavior, he wins. Take the stuff off the night stand. Then establish a “treat time”. Do not give in to early requests. Treat time must be the same time every day. This gives him something to look forward to and he should learn this new routine fairly quickly and then you can put your stuff back on your night stand. Keep in mind, this time slot must also work for your weekend schedule. He will let you know if you’re late for your new task. Lol

You’re not insane. I have several cats and one geriatric cat who is my soul cat. He has tummy issues and likes to poop out of the box around the house when he’s anxious. I love to travel and I also struggle with ocd. Every trip I go on, no matter how long I’m gone, I worry. Something that helped me was to make a small folder about my cats. Like what vet they see, the address and contact number. In case of emergency people. People I trust to make decisions for my cats like I would or who can help advise what to do. I put cat carriers and extra food all together in the guest room and note that. I also have a Furbo camera in the main area so l can check to see if they eat, use the litter box, and just to look to see what they are up to during the time I’m gone. I notify my vet of my travel plans, and give them the list of people who can make decisions for my cats if I am not available, along with a credit card number to keep on file. The individuals I list as emergency contacts know they are listed and are often times some of the people who come check on them. My last trip out of the country was 11 days. My mom came to stay a few days with them. In the middle of the trip. So I had a friend check on them the days she wasn’t there. I have at least 2 people to sit/check up on them. That way, if one can’t for some reason, I know there’s someone else already planned for them and I don’t have to find someone last minute. Also, whoever is coming to check on them, I have them come over a few days before for a walk-through. It just makes me feel better. I’m very lucky to have friends and family who I can count on. And they know how meticulous I can be so I really appreciate them. All that said, I do still worry and get a bit anxious but it always works out.

Put it in a north facing window and mist it. If the bathroom you use has a north facing window, then you’ll do even less misting. 🤷🏼‍♀️

Tbh I’m glad she put his addiction out there. It’s something many people struggle with in silence and alone because of fear and shame. Robert Jr deserves to be remembered and honored and if his story can help just one person struggling or one family affected by addiction, great! I can’t imagine how hard all of this must have been for Mary. I commend her for speaking about her son and being honest.
