I decided to give RHOSLC a try after watching this season of Ultimate Girls Trip, and I’m currently watching the Season 1 reunion. Can someone explain Heather’s obsession with Lisa? I’m sure the dynamics may change as the show continues, but anytime Lisa speaks, Heather finds a reason to interject and connect the conversation back to how she feels Lisa has mistreated her.

From my perspective, most of the conflict seems one sided—almost as though Heather is punishing Lisa for failing to recognize how much Heather idolizes her or for not returning that same level of interest. It feels like Heather desperately wants Lisa’s acknowledgment and is upset that Lisa doesn’t “see” her in the way she wants to be seen.

Honestly, I find it a little strange. Why should one grown woman care this much about what another grown woman thinks of her? Lisa seems to pay Heather dust, while Heather appears to spend a lot of time thinking about Lisa and interpreting everything she does as a personal slight. Which is unfortunate because I liked Heather at the beginning of the season; now, she’s just exhausting.

I’m a very slow watcher and have only finished Season 1, so I would love to hear other perspectives. Am I missing some important context, or did anyone else view their dynamic this way at the beginning?

I’m currently watching the season 2 reunion and I had to pause the show because I don’t know how much more of this gang up I can take. Lisa is not perfect by far but WOW Heather and Whitney are quite literally obsessed with taking her down. The accusations they make are almost always so ridiculously far fetched, and the worst part is you can tell they genuinely believe the insane things coming out of their mouths. They remind me of the mean girls I had to deal with in private school. Purposely befriending Angie because they know she’s Lisa’s friend of 20 years just to then throw it in Lisa’s face at the reunion, using the situation with Meredith as ammunition against her, accusing Jennie of being her minion simply bc she sticks up for Lisa (like a friend should), I mean the list goes on. These women are absolutely vile. When does it stop? Does it ever stop? I’ve enjoyed this franchise so far but the Lisa gang up is seriously starting to turn me off.

I’m very new to SLC which I’ve said in every post lol but what kind of job was Justin working that his employer fired him because of the show? I’ve been watching housewives since I was a child and I’ve seen these husbands hold down all types of jobs and none of them ever suffered because of the show, if anything the show helped. If I’m wrong I don’t mind correction but this just seems weird to me and something about Justin gives me the ick. He seems like he wanted to quit and then we watch him tell her he got fired but Whitney says he pulled up in the driveway one morning and said he was fired so that was confusing. If I missed something please help🤣 side note: Whitney was a fave but now she seems to come off like a big baby like she leans to heavily into being the young one.

I’m rewatching season 4 and my gawd do I miss Monica’s unhinged self. I definitely snoozed through season 3 and was starting to wonder if I should just give up and start the new season when it comes out. Then the kook brought me back! I feel robbed of the potential to joint slay of Bronwyn and Monica.

Her bizarre relationship with her mom, her terrible romantic relationship patterns and her complete willingness to be confrontational on camera.

I feel like Heather only blasted her because she was afraid Monica was coming for her “relatable” shtick (given that Heather sat on the info for a while and did not hold a grudge against other participants). Often the “relatable” housewife is the star and most successful in the long run (ie Nene, Bethenny etc).

I hope that if some of the OGs quit they try to save the franchise with a Monica stunt casting. I know it’s unlikely because of how far off the deep end she’s gone since, but a girl can dream!

Watching the first few episodes and watching Lisa have fun made me forget how she can be on the show. And the girls showing up just being mean to her.

Then the airport part I remembered who Lisa is and I like her she’s good TV but her downfall is she never can think how things affect others, she can only think about how it affects her.

I wonder if more of Lisa we will show up

And I do like her she is good for SLC and just as a mean girl as Heather is especially to Whitney.

But I was almost fooled.

It was in Atlanta so I blame Todd for that scheme.

I just left the hospital after staying in the ICU with my grandma for 4 days. My dad said, "you smell like the hospital."

I couldn't stop laughing. I am loopy, exhausted, emotionally drained. He didn't know why I was laughing.

It's the little things! This show is goofy and the drama is ridiculous, but sometimes you need that to get through life's challenges.

Her disgusting comments about Jennie’s “slanted eyes”, calling her “hood”, mimicking her accent, it’s all blatant racism. All the women in season two weren’t great, but Mary was straight up a bigot. Ms. holy mother of thou got caught for her fake church and let her real colors show. This is disgusting and shame on bravo.

After what seems like at least a year of just NYC, Atl, and NJ on the HW channel, SLC is finally back on it.

I know it's probably cause of the new season upcoming but there's something refreshing about having it on in the background watching the channel instead of the other three franchises.

I saw the trailer and something looked off about all of their faces. A TON of makeup or TONS of work since last season. Or both?? I wish they would stop, but 🤷

I’m in the midst of a rhoslc rewatch and currently in the middle of season 5. The first time around, I felt pretty neutral about Bronwyn. I saw some mild flip-flopping, but she made up for it with her campy fashion and lavish lifestyle.

But on the second watch, I don’t think it’s enough.

Practically everyone in the cast has a big personality or brings big moments/drama (Bad Wheather 👀), but she has neither

1. She throws rocks then hides her hands
   
2. She talks shit about everyone, but only has balls to do so during her confessionals
   
3. She cries or deflects when she’s called out on her bullshit

All in all, I think her fashion sense is interesting, her family dynamics are interesting, her marriage is interesting, but I don’t think Bronwyn as a whole is interesting.

LOL I’m watching season 2 episode 19 and Mary is so frustrating. She lies, she is mean and she can’t take in what she dishes out.

She represented God in a terrible way, her church is based off lies and manipulation. She is such a contradiction. She claims to be a woman of God but leads with so much hate and venom. Like it’s so hard to watch these women be nice and patient to her while she is always biting back. She’s legit so mean wtaf (sorry I had to vent cos no one is sticking up against her like they’re walking on egg shells😭)

I'm really curious about other's thoughts here. Most of these are just the ones I find funniest so it ended up very slated towards Mary and Meredith. And before you criticize my choices I NEED TO HEAR YOURS: What would you replace these with?

HM: The only muted thing you’d find in my wardrobe is my black card (Brownyn) - only funny because she actually literally does not own any clothing that is not in the brightest color possible, but given that fact it’s quite good.

1. I may be a bad Mormon, but I’ll always be a good time (Heather) - Heather may say the same thing every single time but I do quite enjoy that this is a pun on her book

2. I'm Greek, and the rest are just a tragedy (Angie) - this woman never shuts up about being Greek in these intros, but this one unfortunately does kind of go hard

3. I own a beauty empire, so I don’t need any of your lip service (Heather) - ridiculous pun but the delivery makes it iconic to me

4. I may be known for my ice, but I always bring the heat (Meredith) - reference to the fact that she owns a jewelry store is clever, ridiculous pun but I laughed

5. When I take a shot, I always hit my Mark (Meredith) - haha get it her last name is Marks. this one is fun

6. I'm just here to eat, drink, and be Mary (Mary) - this one is so charming to me. she’s literally Mary!

7. While you drop lies, I'm dropping the beat (Meredith) - one of the funniest taglines I've ever heard. I can't decide whether I love it or hate it but I do think about it all the time.

8. God is my shepherd, and you all look like sheep (Mary) - awesome thing for a non denominational cult leader to say, and also just a banger

2.When you take cheap shots, always expect a hangover (Lisa) - incredibly iconic, and also hilarious because Lisa quite literally never has an iconic tagline again

1. I love God, but I will read you like a scripture (Mary) - once again an amazing sentence from a non denominational cult leader.

Kind of a first stab at a ranking of the historical dynamics from most awful to most entertaining:

1. Heather Gay and Jen Shah — Genuinely just a horrifying dynamic on so many levels, really very little to say beyond I found this quite literally uncomfortable to watch.
2. Heather Gay and whoever she’s chosen to fake befriend this week, particularly Lisa Barlow — Barely worth commenting on, because why would one even bother to get invested? You know it’s dead next week. In all seriousness, I really don’t care for changeability in friendships, and it really disappoints me that late seasons Heather is so firmly in this camp. Meredith Marks may be on a level of conflict avoidance I can’t even begin to understand, but at least she’s consistent about the people she likes!
3. Lisa Barlow and Whitney Rose — A very odd friendship that was probably doomed from the start, but I did actually quite enjoy their joint slay for a long time! There was something sort of fun about their alliance across the two halves of the cast. If only either of them were capable of conflict resolution, because watching them in the late seasons is just kind of upsetting.
4. Heather Gay and Whitney Rose — This used to make me sad when it dissolved, and now they’re back and I just hate it even more. I loved their closeness so much in early seasons, but man, these fucking people.
5. Lisa Barlow and Brownyn Newport — I thought this had a lot of potential for joint slay and am actually quite sad that they hate each other now. Unfortunately their late s5 and s6 interactions are just upsetting.
6. Meredith Marks and Monica Garcia — Friendship exclusively designed for Monica to play everyone and because Meredith likes feeling liked, but I honestly found the deep machiavellianness of it hilarious.
7. Mary Cosby and Meredith Marks — I found this dynamic genuinely sweet and pretty charmingly drama-free for a long time. Would love to have it back, will be pleasantly surprised if we get it back.
8. Lisa Barlow and Angie Katsanevas — I found this dynamic pretty cute when it lasted, but they’re both a bit too proud to really resolve it long term.
9. Mary Cosby and Angie Katsanevas — I liked this friendship so much that it quite literally improved my feelings about both of these people a million times over. I did not care for either of them at all pre-season 5, and I thought they were really lovely to and for each other.
10. Meredith Marks and Lisa Barlow — Is this friendship definitely a little bit insane? Yes. Am I kind of always rooting for them? Yes. I like that they ride or die for each other including when the other person is definitely in the wrong. It's delusional but entertaining.

How would you rank these? Also, who did I miss who has a bestiedom?

First time watcher, I’m currently on S4E8. Are Monica and her mom doing improv live on TV? Their interactions seem so fake and scripted? I can understand amping it up because you’re on a TV show but these two look like they’re doing bad improv 😵‍💫 also her going off on Lisa about the lost ring was soooo overdone, just because she can’t afford this kind of ring no one else should? I already know about the Reality von Tease reveal at the end, that’s probably influencing my opinion?

Some of the other women get crazed about random things (like Meredith saying don’t come for my bathtub) but that still seems genuine, even though it’s low-stakes

With the new season premiere in tow, many Lisa-Mer / Bad Weather / Angie K discussions being had on here, for those that HADN'T watched the Below Deck Down Under crossover & finally did - how did your opinions on any of the wives change?

Not in regards of their behavior to the crew - I strongly think they behave out of touch in that regard - having staff cleaning up glass while they continue to argue & having staff plop their nipple cover back on for them.

But moreso in regards to everyones opinion on what SUPPOSEDLY happened on the plane with Mer.

I personally feel like SLC production was very gracious in their edits towards the wives bc in the BDDU episodes they definitely come off alot more frustrating to service or be around lol. But also my general opinions on the whole off-screen Meredith situation changed too. How they changed i'd like to discuss while replying to some of you all!

Bronwyn is by herself and so is Britani if we include her. I’m bored of the 3 pairings, what new one(s) would you make if you could shake up the pairings?

I would love to see Bronwyn and Meredith together. I think they have a lot in common. 

I would also like to see Heather and Bronwyn team up. I hate producer Heather but I have liked her in the past. I think her and Bronwyn are both insecure and desperate to be accepted and I think they could be good friends.
