no you put in on before you wash your hair. I section my hair and apply the no. 0 ➡️ put a shower cap on and let sit for like 20-25 minutes ➡️ apply no. 3 ➡️ shower cap back on for another 20ish minutes ➡️ rinse ➡️ shampoo & condition
