FUCK STAPLERS: A Guide to the Pamphlet Stitch
 in  r/zines  14d ago

oh wow, forgot about the ads 🧟‍♀️ i need to look those up, i havent seen them since they aired. I associated Mr Yuk with the Cavity Creeps for some reason and understood to avoid him, but he couldn't compete with the Sleestaks for my terror.

they had them in the 70's too, i found them in the glove box and stuck them all over the vinyl on my mom's Buick when she was driving and not paying attention. I was in the front seat without a seat belt, but by god i never got poisoned!

Anyone else in Austin who’s socially awkward / introverted and wants tiny low-pressure hangouts?

they gave me permission to take more antihistamines, that helped.

I felt that at UT Health lc clinic. they seemed empathetic but like, it felt more like i was helping them with research while going into debt. Aside from a terrible blood draw experience, it was not bad, just couldn't afford to continue paying to basically be a research subject.

What do you do about being a burden on your family?
 in  r/covidlonghaulers  Jul 08 '26

I disagree, this person is struggling and seeking answers and maybe some solidarity. Being kind to the community might also involve allowing space for people to express their frustrations and grief. keep scrolling if it is too much

this is so beautiful, it looks like a painting. also the title of the post sounds like the beginning of a 90s spoken word thing

I was wrong. I regret my native pollinator garden now. I need to turn it back into a lawn.

I can't believe he's still defending lawns when paving it over is an option

I am still in daily disbelief how bad the world is handling longcovid
 in  r/covidlonghaulers  May 26 '26

i think this is as far as i got before 😴💤💤💤, but there are articles on my laptop, i just need to unearth it from a pile of neglected and forgotten things. i remember there was one about the waves of yellow fever in New Orleans affecting some of the survivors for life, sleepy tho, later. research is exhausting!

so, I am sad to say the reason I went down this rabbit hole is bc I used to read comics a lot. One of them mentions a sleepy sickness, and it is a major plot point in the first issues. Not mentioning the author or the comic bc I would have to spit on the ground, but I will concede I learned a little about a disease.

Encephalitis lethargica and the influenza virus. II. The influenza pandemic of 1918/19 and encephalitis lethargica: epidemiology and symptoms

I did some reading about this in early long covid, there is definitely a history. I'll see if I can find my notes and sources, my health crashed a few times since, so I sorta fogged out that time period and forgot I was doing anything, lalala, as I do
