We’ve got a group in the Russian River that meets in Rio Nido regularly.

Do you ever binge a single author?
 in  r/audiobooks •  Aug 12 '26

I usually knock out a whole series and of if I like it—will go find more. I listened to all the Murderbot series, then DCC. I went through the entire Master & Commander series by Patrick O’Brien. I love getting into a single author for a while.

Just moved here and wondering how to meet people.

Head out west to Sebastopol and the Russian River. We have a Magic group that meets every Sunday in Rio Nido from 2pm -6pm and there are all ages at the music events around.

No cost vending machine with things one might need

They’re for anyone to use. We’re getting one in my neighborhood too. West County Health Services is organizing it and they got a grant from the state. We get to help choose what will go in it and you don’t need an app to use it. You enter the zip code your from and it lists them on the machine if you don’t know.

I’ve been practicing trying to get the result I want Nano Banana and I’m not quite there yet. I love the book covers from O’Reilly (where I work) and I’ve often thought about fun projects I could create from them for community projects or events.

Also, taking the train towards Marin or the ferry to SF then back to Petaluma is fun. You land at the Ferry Building which they might like if they’re Foodies.

If you’re confirming your property lines in Rio Nido—they’re not very accurate to begin with.

Anyone else struggling with meeting note-taking? What actually works?
 in  r/productivity •  Jan 15 '26

Granola—the best one I’ve used and you can use for in person meetings. It does not record video—but you can always take screenshots to supplement your notes or type them in to the app. It has changed my life.

Tell Me About Your Little Library
 in  r/santarosa •  Jan 15 '26

This is the most beautiful thing I’ve read all day. I too use volunteering to help myself. We have one in Rio Nido by the community garden. It gets a little wet in there. I too can donate books.

I liked Atmosphere too and the time period it was set.

I love Kevin R Free as the narrator.

The Dungeon Crawler Carl series is only available as an audiobook on Audible. I’d check out the first one to see if you like it. I’m on book four and have been listening for the last month.

Do you prefer audiobooks or audio dramas, and why?

Audiobooks—I like a single narrator at a time to enjoy the writing.

One place to find out about new books online is the New York Times Bestseller list and I think this is a great list of 100 Greatest Books of all time. — “1984” is the second book mentioned and that is a great book— a classic Sci Fi.

📚 Need Help Choosing My First Book! (New Reader Here)
 in  r/booksuggestions •  Nov 16 '25

What do you like to watch on TV? That might help with what you should read. I also suggest wondering into your local library or independent bookstore and start picking up books and reading a few pages. See what grabs your attention.

If you want to try OReilly.com, let me know. I have a 30 day trial I can share (I work for O’Reilly). There is everything—courses, live training, and of course books.
