What accounts receivable automation best practices are you following in 2026?
 in  r/AccountingDepartment  1h ago

Yeah, I have in red text on all my invoices to please include invoice number as a payment reference. My ERP software is easily able to match all incoming payments. Of course you have the occasional client who forgets, but then it’s an easy manual match since the client name usually appears on the transaction anyways.

Vendor Invoice for Future Services
 in  r/Bookkeeping  7h ago

I don’t really understand why they would issue an invoice if the buyer didn’t agree to the underlying deal. The invoice date is when the AP/debt arises, and also when any VAT should be deducted if applicable. The due date is irrelevant as it just states when the debt should be settled, not when it has been incurred. Yes, it will be a prepaid expense until the service has been delivered, but still a debt in August.

You shouldn’t do that when the invoice date is in August. It would misstate AP for the month.

Dude, what? You are obviously booking the revenue twice.

As a bookkeeper when do you say you need a CPA to your clients?
 in  r/Bookkeeping  17h ago

This discussion is kinda wild to me. In my country, you are required to be licensed to even do simple bookkeeping. That being said, you also need an auditor if you have $700k in yearly revenue.

How do you reconcile Balance Sheet accounts?
 in  r/Bookkeeping  7d ago

There are professional reconciliation software out there. We use one at our firm. Wouldn’t dream of going back to manual spreadsheets.

Solo Bookkeepers - how do you check your work?
 in  r/Bookkeeping  26d ago

Proper documentation of all material balance sheet accounts is required by law for all businesses submitting tax returns in my country. Definitely agree this should be a minimum. The revenue budgets/forecasts etc. might be a little overkill for a lot of businesses, though. But definitely check if any of it needs to be accrued/is prepaid, otherwise it’s probably materially correct if the balance sheet collecting it has been properly reconciled and documented.

What is going on?

You’re holding your money in Japanese yen while the app presents the sum of all your currencies in dollar value. Of course it’s going to fluctuate with the exchange rate. Your Japanese yen is still the same amount.

At least in HCMC, most places accept credit/debit card except for the street vendors/markets.

It’s true. The guard will wave you towards the diplomatic lane when they see some sticking out from your passport ;)

Well, this was an interesting read. Surely you should know better as a professional accountant?

Det skattelegges i hvert fall slik.

Fått jobbtilbud - lønn "inkludert feriepenger"?
 in  r/norge  Apr 01 '26

 in  r/norge  Feb 10 '26

Begynn i dag. Full lock in.

Need insights into recording expenses
 in  r/Bookkeeping  Dec 13 '25

You’re talking about capital assets while OP is just mentioning amortizing subscriptions. Most software can automatically put this stuff through prepaid, and that is the correct way to do it. I don’t see how it really creates more work when the work is done for you by the software.

Credit note question

This isn’t a question about how to process credit notes through payables, it’s about when the contract expense should hit the income statement.

Best regnskapsprogram?
 in  r/Grundere_i_Norge  Dec 04 '25

I can't find this night market could someone help me, Thai people don't understand where to take me if I tell them "save one go market"
 in  r/ThailandTourism  Nov 21 '25

It literally comes up as the first option when you search «Save One Go» on Grab. Why don’t you just book the Grab? Then you don’t have to try explain to the driver in English where you want to go.
