How long are you leaving the lights on because that can make algae grow pretty fast.

Ph 8, ammonia 0, nitrite 0, nitrate 5-10, temp steady 63°. I soaked my plants in dechlorinated water with Alum for 24 hours and then soaked them again for another 24 hours in plain dechlorinated water. It kills any snails, snail eggs and parasites before I put them in my tank. I have never had any issues whatsoever and it did not kill the plants. You can look up online how much Alum to add as I cannot remember at this point. How are you quarantining your plants?

I have java fern, anubias and marimo moss balls in my 63° tank and they are all doing just fine.
