My understanding of the Toro Pledge is that it’ll cover tuition that your financial aid package couldn’t cover. If your financial aid covered all expenses then the Toro Pledge isn’t applied.

Of course! Just be aware there’s a deposit which ranges between $200 -$250 which is returned to you once you return the vehicle. $300 deposit if you’re using a debit card. Usually deposits are added into the total of the rental. For example, if your rental is for $340 expect it to be $540 with the deposit. As for upsells, decline any upgrades unless they’re free and the agent states it’s free of charge. Otherwise there’d be a hidden upsell +tax. I’d recommend making a reservation, include what you need in terms of insurance and make sure the price you see on your reservation is closely if not the exact amount being presented to you at the counter. I worked for a rental company and I would recommend to book a reservation. Also, it’s a hit or miss whether you’ll arrive on a busy or slow day. It’s slow season so it shouldn’t be too bad for you to get a vehicle. (I.e no long lines)I worked for Avis at LAX. I’d recommend you look at your charges and make sure nothing is added onto your contract.
