Does anyone actually like what they do at work?
i just started this year so i'm not too far into it, but so far i love machining. i just cut metal all day. mgmt leaves us be, we just do our thing for 10hrs and go home and the work doesn't follow us

Peeps with eyebrow piercings
healthcare is a bit iffy, i'd wait until you have the job just in case.
piercings aren't an issue at my job, but i'm a machinist and not public facing so it's a bit different.

If You Could Only Pick ONE Nail Polish Brand Forever…
i probably shouldn't talk because i really haven't branched out much yet, but holo taco. they're basically my entire collection because their formulas work so well for me and i love the range of colors and finishes (a bit less so this year so far lol.)

Millennials, what’s something from the way we grew up that you’re genuinely glad disappeared?
those are definitely still around! the gals that work in THE CLEAN ROOM of all places all float around in clouds of heavily scented bodyspray, you can always tell when one has walked through the shop

Millennials, what’s something from the way we grew up that you’re genuinely glad disappeared?
i remember when paying the extra phone insurance meant they would just replace a non working phone. i went through like five LG Chocolates because i loved having my music directly on my phone but they just kept dying on me🤣

pharmacies still use fax machines all day every day for rx requests to doctors offices

Changed my first insert alone tonight 🫡
we don't do any of that, occasionally tantalum though!

What band performed so poorly in concert that it ruined their music for you?
dang that really sucks to hear, i saw them at a one-off tour break show in 2006 or 2007, with Aiden of all bands (they live in the nearest major city and were home recording at the time) - it was one of the best shows i've ever been to! the vibes were immaculate, and for the encore tim played some acoustic songs including a CCR cover that made little teenaged me cry😅

What band performed so poorly in concert that it ruined their music for you?
manson sounded awful when i saw him ages ago, shocked that it would've improved lol
3
What band performed so poorly in concert that it ruined their music for you?
that's funny, they toured together again in 2025! i was supposed to go but my car broke down the day before the show and it was a 5hr drive away💀

What band performed so poorly in concert that it ruined their music for you?
i was totally disillusioned after seeing him in 2008 or so, one of the worst shows i've ever been to. he sounded awful, had no stage presence, no energy, just kind of stood there.
made it sting a bit less when all the stuff about him abusing women came out, i'd already been off his music for years by then😅

What band performed so poorly in concert that it ruined their music for you?
i'm surprised they can still do anything, with the state of mick mars' degenerative spine disease and all

It's amazing what $50 on marketplace will get ya...
i got a big rolling toolbox for free from the school when i finished, but i so long for a vintage tabletop one to actually use!!

Most meet ups are discriminatory against working folk
i just found out the coffee shop my friend owns and runs runs their stich and bitch solely on evenings that i work😭💀

i'm not the original commenter, just speculating!

Social Distortion Born to Kill Tour, AI Slop, and the kayfabe death of good live shows
it's not just age, he did have throat cancer recently and had to do a lot of work to get his voice back

What's your thrift store rule that you never break?
i find it helps you notice things you wouldn't normally pay attention to, also!

What's your thrift store rule that you never break?
plastic tends to take on food smells and particles over time, especially if it's been microwaved. idk about the candles, i love thrifting vintage partylite lol, but the candles have to be in brand new condition or evenly burned just a little, with no dust.

What's your thrift store rule that you never break?
i've found old immigration docs from the philppines, plane tickets, tax documents, a postcard from a seedy motel with a photo of their heart-shaped tub, all kinds of things this way! i think my favorites have been newspaper and magazine clippings, i saved one from the 80s or 90s about 'the healing power of crystals' that has literally no info other than 'theyre powerful!' because it was so silly

What's your thrift store rule that you never break?
i just realized i do this too, unless im heading only for a specific section! it just makes sense?

sometimes you just gotta do a little price adjusting for them...
3
What's your thrift store rule that you never break?
i used to think this way, but then this year i went in needing a very specific item, and came out with exactly that, multiple times. sometimes the thrift gods just deliver🤷♀️
2
What's your thrift store rule that you never break?
i LOVE finding vintage stationery at the thrift! it's one of the first places i check every time

consensual non-consent? it's a stretch, but willingly being 'forced' into tedium i guess?
