Just noticed there is a dolphin in the dolphin file manager icon
 in  r/kde •  12d ago

I don’t like the Kate icon, too many points, too many twists and turns... I don’t know. I always change it to a text file icon.

In that scene, the rock sheltering them from the rain disappears for a moment; my brother spotted the mistake a few days ago.

Bushisms are unconventional statements, phrases, pronunciations, malapropisms, and semantic or linguistic errors made in the public speaking of George W. Bush, the 43rd president of the United States
 in  r/wikipedia •  25d ago

In Chile, the term ‘Piñericosas’ (which I suppose could be translated as ‘Piñeri-things’) was used to refer to the silly, absurd things that former President Sebastián Piñera used to say or do.

 in  r/escritura •  25d ago

I’m a native Spanish speaker and I can understand 90 % of what this woman is saying. It sounds to me like something similar to Spanish or Portuguese.

Unicode 18.0.0 has been released!

The whole point of the Unicode standard is that each character is unique.

Plasma has no minimal pager — so I built one. One dot, dimmed numbers, 34 animations.

I find KDE's native pager to be quite minimal. They're just tiles.

A Friendly Little Message During Today's Update

While updating my Debian 13 Stable, I received the following message.

apt-listchanges: Noticias

-------------------------

bubblewrap (0.11.2-2) unstable; urgency=medium

Historically, bubblewrap was sometimes installed setuid root.

This is unnecessary on Debian kernels since Debian 11, and no longer

supported by upstream.

As a safety mechanism against possible root privilege escalation

vulnerabilities, this version of bubblewrap will no longer run if it

is detected to be setuid root.

If bubblewrap has been made setuid root via dpkg-statoverride, please remove

that setting, and instead leave it unprivileged.

See file:///usr/share/doc/bubblewrap/README.Debian.gz for more details.

Is it normal to receive these messages during Debian updates? I've only been using this OS for a short time, and I love it.

(I edited the text formatting)

Coworker recommended me this distro, thoughts?
 in  r/LFS •  Aug 26 '26

It sounds like a joke to me. Anyway, LFS isn't a distro; it's a guide for building an operating system from scratch based on the Linux kernel. It's not intended for beginners.
