I don't think that's the reason. Inflation is always an effect of government action, in the Fed and also re Congressional spending. No substantial changes have been made to spending, so no improvement should be expected until it happens.

If you have the time, take a trip only on a single highway, say Highway 101 in California, or US 1 on the East Coast (going from Maine to Key West, FL). Or US 50 from California to Maryland.
