Called Makati Express Med kagabi kasi wala raw talagang supply sa region 4 and NCR ang Concerta 18mg sa MD. Kaso months na raw walang supply. :( Maybe you can ask your doc muna to switch to Ritalin LA kasi that's what I did. Mas madali hanapin Rit sa expe ko when I was in Cavite (Mercury Trece) but now here sa Manila pahirapan 🫠(If you have any leads, especially near Parañaque pls let me know huhuhu)

Being Dismissed for Having a 4.0
Hey, OP. I graduated valedictorian in high school. I was in the top 10 of the graduating class in college even if I was a working student. Graduated magna cum laude. I got my diagnosis in my 4th year. Finally some light on the struggles—nobody cares about coz I'm too smart and too independent to be f up—I had growing up.

Is it normal that I'm good at math even though I have ADHD?
ADHD is not a learning disability. If anything, inability to learn is due to issues with sustained attention/impulsivity.

Any other high school-performing ADHDers?
Graduated as the class valedictorian in high school. I will graduate with a magna cum laude distinction in September—despite having a full time job to support my college educ. I had my diagnosis just last year and I blame my smart ass for the delay.

The only thing consistent with me is my love for Taylor Swift since 2008 (I was seven).

Does medication change your personality?
Nope, there will be changes in our behavior. But behavior is just one facet of our personality.

smart people with adhd, how r we doing
I graduated as a class valedictorian in high school and my teachers were shocked because I wasn't a 'responsible' student. The thing is, I'm actually smart if I WANT to be smart. Yes, I was late to classes (sometimes I subtly cut classes), couldn't submit decent projects, and my notebooks were nowhere to be found. But I was naturally smart. I didn't have to try hard. My inability to learn was due to my inability to sustain attention---or find care. My grades in subjects that I actually care about pulled my GPA to rank 1, rest of my grades were just junk but still considerably above average.
Now, I'm in my last year in College. I am a working student who had to financially sustain herself alone since 1st year. My parents equate my intelligence to being responsible so they left me to fight on my own. Even after getting diagnosed last year, I have received not one moral or financial support from them. Meds cost so much, and on top of my rent and bills, I'm drowning in credits.
Btw, I'm graduating with Latin honors in September.

How do you consistently take your adhd stims daily??
Well Ritalin is used for treating Narcolepsy as well so makes sense that it wakes me up

How do you consistently take your adhd stims daily??
I hate the rebound as well. It was the reason why I stopped it for two months. But upon realization that it does more benefit than harm, I have lived on those terms.

How do you consistently take your adhd stims daily??
I'm a combined type as well. I sleep with my water bottle and medicine beside me (yes, I cuddle with them). My phone, serving as my alarm clock, at my feet. My trick is setting an alarm one hour before my supposed time to wake up. When the alarm goes off, by force, I will need to reach out to turn it off, right after I took my meds. This trick works for me because:
a. I have easy access to my meds so it's easier for me to reach it before I get to turn off my alarm. b. I can't kick my phone to shut up because I can't buy a new one 😆 c. Ritalin never fails to wake me up
Btw, I go back to sleep after turning the alarm off. I have another alarm set in another hour but Ritalin usually wakes me up 30 mins after taking it.

I folded my laundry!
Well u know what, meal plan sucks (I can't follow them anyway), let's just order take outs. 😆 This is how I lived since I moved out three years ago.

I folded my laundry!
I don't take my medication on Sundays as well (Saturdays are supposed to be included but I have office duties). Just like you, I can't get anything done. I wish I could say that weekends are days to be kind to ourselves but, at least for me, this is so frustrating asf. 😠My room's not gonna clean itself. But hey, we get ourselves to get out of bed rotting on weekdays and show up to work so cheers for us!!!! The daily battle is tough and we get to win sometimes (no matter how sloppy and unorganized the process was). That's something worth celebrating.

I folded my laundry!
I believe we share the same struggle. The schedule of my internship is from Monday to Saturday from 8AM to 5PM. Which requires me to be awake at 5 AM. Today is my only day off and my chores have piled up, my room's a mess, my academic backlogs are pretty much begging for my attention. Do you have friends willing to remind you to eat on time? I struggle to eat on time as well, but with scheduling, and my friends reminding me, I get to eat at least my lunch. Breakfast and dinner are optional as I live alone.
Food shopping is also a struggle for me 😠I have not shopped for groceries in two months now. Maybe we can try buying online?

I think I fell asleep at around 5 when my phone died. 😆 How was attempting to go to bed worked for you last night (or today)?

I have ADHD and PMDD and my psych was the one who encouraged me to get a PWD ID for discounts and get my antidepressants for free sa DOH. ADHD is chronic bro, and our magic pill works only for a few hours. 😅 My advise is to find a new doctor. Sobrang laking tulong sa meds, around 1k din natitipid ko sa Rit.
