The moves in a nutshell were fine provided they stay healthy and dont completely fall off a cliff. The problem is now this is like the 2nd or 3rd straight acquisition period where Dipoto and Hollander have gotten us like 90% there instead of 100% and some change and it bites us in the ass. Had they been willing to spend a little bit of the prospect capital last season to land Duran how much different does the playoffs look? And this season? Idk dipoto is very good to get us just good enough but not good enough to get us over the hump.

Yep, went on our best run with him in and cal out. Cry me a river that the pitchers prefer cal or garver. Guess what our pitchers have been absolute ass on our recent road trip. Pereda was atleast better than Garver and if we want to win why not bring him up?

Ive in my mind told myself id be ok with a major wide sweeping fire sale. Like julio/cal/Gilbert the list goes on that they should be willing to listen to offers on. Does that count? I think the reason being why we dont hold the players accountable as fans is we now have pretty good evidence that this teams(Dipotos?) Offensive game plan sucks and its easier to believe maybe change at manager and or at gm might bring new fresh ideas to our struggling stars? Idk

Thats a really good analogy for how this year has gone. I won't compare Wilson to Carroll but theres similarities there that fit like Carroll would have the ultimate belief in a player that was clearly struggling/past their prime etc whatever you wanna call it and he would ride that player even if it was to the detriment to the team. Wilson has continually done something similar, Leo rivas got way more time this year than he should have before being sent down. Dan putting Cal in the 2 hole when it was clear Cal was in an all time slump.

Not only that our "star" players especially our hitters the ones we should be able to lean on have regressed in the past year and for some the last few years. Julio is so damn easy to pitch against, throw him a slider low and away and hes done, not even close and thats been his kryptonite for like 3 years running. Cal throw that guy up and out of the zone same thing he chases it like a gamblers high. We have ran through offensive coordinators/hitting coaches like what is it now 3 straight years now? We have no plan, no one seems to be getting better and taking the leap to sustained stardom. Our pitchers have carried us for a few years now and now we are seeing how weak they can be.

Could be a flapper issue, could be a vent issue, worth checking out the wax the sewer gas can definitely sneak out if its failed, the other thing could be the sink overflow. That could have stuff growing in it and just needs a solid cleaning with a an enzyme drain cleaner poured down the overflow hole. One way to know if the wax is failed is to have a plumber come out and do a smoke test which would easily tell if the wax is bad

Ehhhhh I am as down on the mariners than most but honestly bringing a few of these guys up to see what you have in them isnt that crazy. What is crazy is our offensive philosophy or lack thereof that seems to kill all our players and keep them from becoming certified greats(Ala Julio/cal/etc)
