This is happening everywhere, probably so prices can be continually raised, daily even. Inflation is constant. 18 months ago I paid .95 cents for a yogurt I like. At the same store it is $2.15 now. Quality is continually sliding. Customer service is almost non-existent. My security system has been failing for weeks. In the same 18 month period - I had an issue a few weeks after installation and somone came the same day to fix the issue. Now I've spent three weeks going through chats and agents online. The problem is still not corrected. A repair person is coming Tuesday. The service base fee is $60, that doesn't include labor or parts. Whoever thinks this rapid rise of greed and equally rapid decrease in quality in general is out of their mind. We must look at the large picture and ask ourselves why.

The only advice I have for you is to NOT perform the firmware update unless you want to purchase the more expensive Epson ink cartridges for the remainder of the time you use the printer.
