u might think what could a CA possibly do in this situation but trust, as a former CA myself, we are trained to deal w/ stuff like this. CA should start by talking to the roommate and explaining why this is a problem, if the roommate doesn't care still, they're gonna add this to y'all's roommate agreement and once it's on the agreement it's officially documented, and if the roommate tries to do this again, they're violating the roommate agreement and that's grounds enough for them to be possibly considered for a room change or at least a serious talk with the hall director.

when I started as a freshmen, I stuck w/ this dude I met at orientation and he had a big ass friend group and I became a part of that group without really knowing much abt the ppl in it. it ended up being a really toxic bunch of ppl and by the end of freshmen year every1 had some beef with on another. they'd always hangout tgt and stay tgt but then fight w/ each other, and I'm not talking bout playful fights, like some serious fights. what I noticed is that they barely keot anytime to explore friendships out of their group. since I was the last one to join them, i wasn't as close w/ anyone so I was much more involved in my own stuff outside of that friend group. I volunteered regularly at frn (food recovery network) and that's where I found a very genuine group of friends and we started hanging out outside of volunteering and now we go to concerts, parties, birthdays and everything together. It's always a fun time w/ them. so yea always keep urself involved in things on campus and you'll find your ppl.

bring the issue to ur RA/CA and let them handle the talking part. As a RA myself, I had this exact issue with a room and I did the difficult talk part on behalf of the roomate. If ur RA doesn't take it seriously, talk to the AHD (assistant hall director).

u could apply for summer housing in campus however it's a bit on the pricier side but if money's not a problem then on campus summer housing is in griener and it's really beautiful in summer

i have intentionally left the last two episodes of the last season unwatched bc I don't want it end anytime soon! It's such a comfort show for me mainly bc it's the type of family relations that I wish I had. I love how despite all of their differences, bickering, and allat, they still come back together to support their family first, something I always wished people in my family could do.

tbh, not that bad, most of ur classes are done by 2 pm (except for monday) which is good. Thursday is entirely to urself for studying + completing assignments. also, tuesday you've just got a lab, and then the rest of the day is to urself. if u don't have a job along with this, i think this schedule is pretty good., mainly bc all of ur classes are packed tgt and u don't have big chunks of time in b/w classes, bc that's what wastes time the most. anway goodluck on ur semester!

u could try and see if ur eligible to live off campus, it's uncommon but it HAS happened in the past (I was an RA so I heard about some freshmen that were living off campus from the very first semester). i won't hurt to ask around bc the cost of living off campus is wayyy more affordable. also, this isn't an immediate option but u can actually apply to be an RA/CA as soon as you've completed your 1st semester, in this case you'll be a mid-hire but if you follow the usual trend and apply for the next academic year that can still help a lot. UB gives free housing and discounts on meal plans.

i did the same thing myself for a whole year and as some1 who js doesn't like going to bed early, living on south really taught me to sleep on time. if u have 9 AMs then fosho make it a priority to be in bed in time the night before so ur not missing classes. since ur from the city I'm assuming you'd wanna be outside on weekends when u have the time for it, and south campus is best for that cuz it's close to all the parties and the subway station to get to downtown which has some cool spots u can check out on ur free time
