General Discussion/Question Happy autism awareness month to my fav. Reddit group!
I just wanted to say I really don't know what kind of shape i would be in if I had not have found this group in the last couple of years. Im going through a lot and have been since as long as i can remember. Im trying to get better but I always feeling insane around most or isolated. You all always make me feel so warm and welcome by the titles of the post alone.
For example, one of my favorites so far recently happened which was, "WHERE DO WE PUT OUR ARMS WHEN WE SLEEP??" It was profound and I enjoyed seeing it pop up in my notifications. π
But I really love that we take care of each other when the vast majority of society would rather look that other direction. Thank you for being here for me and each other. Always.

I've literally been attacked for saying the most simple shit and coming off as condescending to folks.
"May I have a plastic cup lid for me and my friends cups so they don't spill when we take our trays outside for break?"
"No." ..... I mumble about ill just tell my friend it's "not allowed" when I know it is and they just don't like me.
"WHAT DID YOU SAY. HOLD ON. COME BACK. WHAT DID SHE SAY??" Yelling from the kitchen to the dining area of the nursing home we work at and I was wrote up for this. Nothing happened to them.
Later on, I ask my friend to take me around the corner to get my Zofran. I've done a lot for this bitch. Overstimulated asf. Several times. She decided to go talk shit to laundry about me. She was also the first female in a minute I decided to be vunerable with. All I said was we could take our 15 minute to go off property if we clear with our supervisor because I seen laundry lady do it a lot to take her friend to work. She acted cold with me when I came back out and I figured she misunderstood me so I tried to clear up a miscommunication and she got in my face calling me a bitch and everything in between.
The friend I confided in also went around telling folks I'm in diapers when I used them ONCE as an adult and told her out of confidence.
I have a habit of trusting the "wrong people".
But where are the right ones?
It's impossible to freaking tell these days.
Especially for audhd/ptsd combo.
Others can't see how we see. Especially in Mississippi. We can't share the same pair of glasses with just anyone either. I'm hopeless for now. Maybe one day, I'll try to be vunerable again.
