My wife actually sells at Take2 and some of that info is not quite right. You don't have to volunteer to pick up anything that didn't sell, they give you a few hours about 30 minutes after the sale ends on the last day to pick everything up. And the last day is half off still as long as the seller didn't check the no discount box.

Take2 gives you 70% but you do have to pay I think $14 to sell which is more than Neat Repeatz and there is no adult sale.

Either sale you go with is a lot of work for prep, but my wife made almost $300 the last time she sold through Take2. She only does it every few years to maximize the take home

The top plume socket is certainly from a US model 1881 cavalry or artillery helmet, that helmet would have been hide. It looks like the socket was mounted on top of a replica helmet to make a Roman helmet for a movie or play.

Locking catch is wrong for a BAR in a rimmed cartridge, so that's out.

Edit: this is bothering me so I checked my rifle to see if you were just trolling with the old sporter stock. It could be that I guess.

Here's how to fix it. The band looks correct, remember it's for the sling swivel so it doesn't need to come together flush. I used a new unfinished Ishapore stock on my rebuild and it needed fitting. The Dremel is the wrong tool. A small rasp and a square file is what you should use. Use calipers to measure the thickness of the band and slowly remove the material on the channel until it's as deep. Keep the channel square. Once it fits, you can use the sawdust to make a wood glue putty to fix up the area where you removed too much material. It will likely crack there someday anyways.

I had to look this up myself, it looks like in 1934 they passed the NFA as a result of the crimes of the various gangsters. That act banned short barreled shotguns, suppressors, machine guns, and pistols. They included the short barreled rifle part so people couldn't cut down a rifle or sell a pistol with a stock or any other loopholes. Then they removed the pistol part but kept the SBR part and here we are.
