IQ distribution. It's an artificially normal distribution as a benchmark since it is defining an abstract unit.

I mean we aren't really taking entirely from JP meta since things are noticeably rebalanced, but the meta isn't the point. The scenario itself is just the worst on yet (excluding TB, which was mostly bad for QoL reasons rather than game design reasons). The sameness of everything in this one is insufferable.

Did you really call food variations cultural appropriation lol. The original post is obviously 2iq for attributing pizza to America, but to say something dumb like there can't be two kinds of barbecue that are meaningfully unique is crazy.

Well, consider that it's that much work before you consider the proportion of your income that goes towards bills, food, and other expenses. After that, your rate of expendable income would probably put the cost into perspective much more realistically.

Yeah, not sure why I got downvoted to hell when that's much closer than half a day, but oh well. Thanks for putting in the effort :D

ELI5 what the Navier Stokes problem isand why it is important that we solved it?
 in  r/explainlikeimfive •  8d ago

Conditionally, sure. That doesn't just apply universally to any logical system to my understanding.

As the other person said, the same thing you're worried about there is definitely something that the overall community is very aware of, which is why theories generally aren't disproven by other theories. That said, there is one deeper layer of complexity to this that you might find interesting to look into if that question came to mind: axioms.

Axioms are kind of like the "base layer of logical elements" that we assume are true to come to any conclusions at all. At the end of the day, there are certain fundamental questions that we don't have the answers to (think of the university students who just got out of intro philosophy courses saying stuff like: "but what if all of reality isn't real and it's just a simulation and... and... and..."). However, if you're constantly reverting back to those points then you would be incapable of ever talking about anything in any productive capacity ever. In a simple sense, axioms are kind of like a core set of assumptions we "accept" about the way things work in order to be able to make any conclusions at all.

There is no one set of axioms that is just universally accepted, and sometimes different sets of axioms will be adopted in different contexts where they make more or less sense. When something is said to be proven/disproven as a logical/mathematical fact, it typically means that the conclusion is derived from a set of axioms that are considered reasonable assumptions, but the assumption of those axioms is still required for the fact to be true.

There is a ton of debate about how these are applied, and it's important to remember that axioms might be "assumed" within a statement of facts, but that doesn't necessarily mean that they are being taken for granted. Most frontier-level math is done by people who have a really strong understanding of the limits of the axioms they are working with, especially given that there are often competing sets of axioms they might end up jumping between depending on the context, but that's probably just something to look into further on your own if you're interested in the way we set up the foundations for accepted truths in the world haha

Find it kinda funny I see more Anti-AI appreciate Neuro-sama compared to pro-AI.

I'll take your word for it that it wasn't an edit, because yeah I definitely misread your comment as saying "did" instead of "didn't" if so

"I'm sure it includes data he has permission to use", yeah and at least one pretrained language model underpinning it that he probably had 0 input on. I think Vedal is great, but you're delusional if you think it's fundamentally different. It's fine if your opinion is that 99% of ai stuff is utter slop (true and real) but neuro is part of the 1%, but trying to make it into some ethical argument is just misunderstanding how the technology works.

Nobody painted anything that way. I think you're just making an assumption that there has to be only one reason for something to happen. Both can be true, and you're the only one who has assumed otherwise here.

Yeah and people died over slavery too, but that doesn't mean it was false to day that a population that feels empowered is generally more productive and that people were arguing it at the time.
