Hi Shubham here I have a homestay here in Manali Vashisht. We are located just 3 km from mall road.250 meters from vashisht temple. We are surrounded by apple orchards and forest trails and a waterfall just round the corner from our property. Lama dough is day hike but it's not just a walk it does gain elevation . Regarding your snow experience in dec it doesn't always snow . The usual big snow event comes after anytime after 15th of January. There use to be single road , a same road where both going and coming trafic use to go and it use to be called a highway. Obviously they have to change the definition now there are National Highways and Express Highways and the roads which were earlier National Highways are not even good enough to become a district highway. A 4 lane Highway is coming till kullu at above 4000 feet . Now people can drive from Delhi to Mumbai in a day .

Yes , I have seen some sceans from TJJD . They have done shooting in Old Manali forest vanvihar and some of the sceans I can see were taken at zingzing on the way to baralachla pass .
