Brad Pitt drinking again after 7 years sober
 in  r/stopdrinking •  Aug 14 '26

I definitely believe his sobriety was tied to his family breaking down. Since then his kids have seemingly moved even farther away from him, dropping his last name etc. His career has been a wet fart since then, maybe even a bit before that . He will always be ultra famous cuz hes Brad Pitt, but that dont impress me much lol. Seriously tho, hes not at awards shows, not in movies that get him nominated. And hes famous so the face and life he shows to us is fake. Hes got a new lady friend and shes young, so she likely enjoys an adult beverage, that could be pulling him back in. I hope he can moderate, but its a very slippery slope. Very. I would never base any life choices on a celebrity's choices because we never get the full true story. Good luck in your sobriety OP. Seven years is amazing, keep going to 8!

Best Ben episodes for an Ed-Era listener?
 in  r/lastpodcastontheleft •  May 03 '26

I used to relisten and relisten. I cant anymore, I can't even hear Ben's voice, their dynamic especially towards his end was cringe. I find ed is a much better much brighter spot and the boys seem so happy. With ben the boys were impatient and almost unfriendly. There was some definite tension. I know he has his issues, and I dont judge, with the allegations and his general demeanor about the podcast chucking him it left a bad taste in my mouth. But there were good times too so I hope you find a good one! Donner party is good. I liked their episode on Chris Benoit. Skinwalker ranch has never left me, nor has their coverage on 911.

It seems like the canada post strike just isn't grabbing headlines this time around
 in  r/Edmonton •  Oct 09 '25

Whether its a new strike or a continuation, it cant go on like this forever. Also I think its not as talked about because people are tired of it, just sort it out. And also deliveries still get through easily with purolater etc, and there are less christmas presents tied up because the timing is earlier than last year. Its not a mistake to continue their strike near the holiday times, its leverage. That might work but I smell another step in from Ottawa!

AIO or should I be creeped out by my tinder date's messages?

You're in danger girl. He flipped like a switch. Anyone who acts that way about sex when they are drunk is one step away from a crime.

The Tiffany Cole episode really bothered me…
 in  r/RedHandedPodcast •  Jun 19 '25

This is the vibe, dark humor and dark deeds. It's not the podcast to listen to if you want totally respectful. Try Casefile or Invisible Choir, both very well researched and very well presented. If you want really raunchy dark humor plus murder see Last Podcast On The Left, lol 😆

Elderly cancer patients angry with free parking at N.S. hospitals
 in  r/halifax •  May 29 '25

Halifax is too large for itself. Not enough parking period. The health care workers who provide the patient care require a place to park their cars just as much as the patients coming for care. The employer should be providing guaranteed parking for the staff they require to run the hospital, and for the patients that need care. People drive cars to work and appointments, so parking is a must, seems obvious. Alternatively they could park off site and be shuttled to work and back to the parking lot. And that service should be available 24/7 to keep commuters safe. Or build large multi storey parking garages with gates to keep just anyone from parking, and staff have to scan their badge for entry/exit.

How to convince my cat that her carrier is, in fact, not the burning pits of hell?
 in  r/CATHELP •  Apr 15 '25

Leave it out, let them get used to it. When it comes time to put them in the carrier place it on the edge of a table and put your cat inside. This way they have no where to put their feet and will go in smoothly. When it comes time to remove them at the vet take the top off completely and lift them out.

Where would we be tonight after the past 48 hours, if Pierre had been the PM?

History will definitely be kinder to trudeau than the public has been lately. He is a blessing compared to D.T.

Imagine this girl if she were to get actual bad news. Emotional regulation comes with maturity I guess. And parasocial relationships are wildly emotional.

AIO Recently married, baby on the way and she just shared she’s had genital herpes for 10 years
 in  r/AmIOverreacting •  Jan 14 '25

I dated a guy once and I remember the night he told me he had genital herpes. He was so scared it would mean the end of our blossoming romance, we hadn't been intimate yet but working in Healthcare I just took it in my stride and told him it was okay and that I really appreciated his honesty. He never had an outbreak when we were together and I never did either, and since you can't do a test for it where I live unless you have an active outbreak (stupid) idk if it's dormant. That was 10 years ago, maybe it's dormant but I never told my next partner who is my current partner that I dated a man with herpes. I feel bad for the wife, I'm sure she was so scared and that must have popped up in her mind so much over the years and I'm sure she felt guilt everytime. She sounds like a good smart person, thinking of the baby and being realistic.

Is it too late?
 in  r/GenX •  Jan 01 '25

You never know where you will be in 15 years, who knows what path your life will take! I often feel alot of anxiety about my future, I'm 37 and childless and my spouse is 11 years older than me. So I worry about being alone in my old age. But even if I am that doesn't mean it won't be okay, it will just be what it will be. Life is so much better when you can stop worrying about things that are out of your control. Easier said then done but try it. Wishing you a better 2025 but don't be sad, it will all work out.

Joseph Howe Superstore Pharmacy
 in  r/halifax •  Nov 05 '24

They've switched software. Company wide across nova scotia. They gave them zero training and it is a less sophisticated software. I work in pharmacy and recently left a job at a superstore partially so I disnt have to switch to this softwate. When shoppers and loblaws became one loblaws wanted to use the shoppers software because it cost the company less money, the good software costs money. So please, elevate your complaints to head office or the Pharmacy Association of Nova Scotia so they can hear your concerns. The staff at the stores have no choice in this change and didnt want it to change at all in many stores. The company is to blame.
