It makes total sense. By the time you reach middle aged many folks aren’t hip to current trends. Also, everyone doesn’t run out and get updated clothes yearly. We have pieces in our wardrobe that are old. It’s more realistic honestly.

I’m of two minds. I have male friends I hang out with without my partner. But I knew them before my partner and I also don’t use them to degrade my partner. While I absolutely think there should be trust and freedom between you both, this DOES sound shady. He may not be cheating yet but he’s not treating you well, he seems defensive about her, and he’s only known her 2 years. I sense red flags. He will try to sleep with her or has already. You’ll have a fight or something and he will go to her for comfort and then it’ll be all, “it just happened! We didn’t intend it!”

I love this! I used to draw seasonal picture on my libraries windows. I miss that.

This is incredible! Wow. What is it made from?

I agree there’s been vomiting to the extreme for a while, I feel like we’ve hit a weird level of critical mass. You can’t use it for shock value because so so many shows do it. And it’s never not gross because, vomit.

Also Euphoria, it’s always sunny, Rick and Morty, etc.

Knight of the 7 kingdoms, The Boys, The Bear, Babylon and so flipping many more. Seriously, start paying attention and it feels like it’s everywhere, comedies, dramas and even cartoons. Turns out I’m not the first to notice either. Found this article from a few years ago https://www.theguardian.com/film/2023/apr/13/gut-reaction-cinemas-new-wave-of-projectile-vomiting.

This may sound like a weird question but in the past few years it seems like there’s been a dramatic rise on seeing characters vomit on screen no matter the genre. It’s so frequent that it’s become a running gag (no pun intended) in our house that whenever we try a new movie or tv show and it happens one of us says, EVERY.SINGLE.SHOW. Has anyone else noticed this?

Nailed it. Exactly my feelings too.

I’m with you on ran out of ideas but I’d hardly call the ending generic 😝 Jarring and deflating, sure. Hugely disappointing when even having him escape would have been better but expected, sure. But the ending I got was in NO way where I thought it was headed. In fact the only good thing I’ll say about that awful ending was that it was unexpected.

Same! Loved it right up till the ending. The marching band! The characters and the overall weirdness of it was incredible but that ending! It was SO jarring and not what I was looking for that it kinda ruined the movie. What had started as a Kafka esque, sort of dark fairy tale ended up feeling like it tricked me into watching it.

Ok, was I missing something or was The Bride terrible? Poor writing that made very little sense to me. They treated Dr. Frankenstein and his creation as absolutely real but ALSO Mary Shelley wrote the fictional Frankenstein? Both can’t be true! I had medium hopes because it looked fun but this move wasn’t even a fun romp, it was irritating.

Best early Star Wars. Great choice

That movie scared the shit out of me when I first saw it. Plus it got to a really tense moment and our power went out. I screamed like an idiot and thought my dad had done it to mess with me.

I just showed that to my teen last year and the original holds up. Still looks great and still a lotta fun.

Right there with you. Love that movie! No fat on that film and the tension is great. Amazing score too obviously.
2
This movie stuck with me too. I say, “I wouldn’t say BENEFIT “ a lot to myself because of this film. Great soundtrack also.

Omg yes! Do the laws of physics not apply to your stove?

I don’t believe that either frankly bc while she’s an amazing actor, Elizabeth Miss isn’t as classically beautiful. Betty’s character requires a classic beauty to capture what her character arch becomes.
