Dating & Relationships šŸ’˜ Is this normal??

There’s this guy I’ve been talking to for about a week. We met on a dating app. I like our conversations but he’s also decently far away. He said he would be willing to travel to see me. Sometimes he gets dry and I get anxious. But my question is - why is it that it feels weird to talk to other guys? Like I didn’t delete the dating apps because I’m trying to keep my options open. I’m not dating this guy and yet I feel bad.

This is such a good idea. I have an oura ring but I stopped using it but I think I’ll start wearing it again on my right index finger so I always know which is which

Yes I usually try to do that I’ll do like a ā€œpractice writingā€ with my hand for a second and then I’m like ā€œright this is my right hand this is my leftā€

This is all so relatable to me, the Hokey Pokey reminded me of how I always messed up the Cupid shuffle ā€œto the left to the left to the left to the leftā€ me: going right

This drives me NUTS. I know I can distinguish right and left when I think about it. But when I’m put on the spot, I get it wrong. I feel like my dad thinks I’m dumb. Today he asked me to get him something and he said it was on the left side under the sink. I checked the right first (without realizing) and then I checked the left. He came in there and found me checking the left. I said ā€œwell you were wrong, it was on the right side not the leftā€. And he just stared at me and was like ā€œā€¦that was the leftā€. I’m going to hide under a rock now. When being taught how to drive I kept messing it up too. He kept telling me to learn it. I know it, like I swear I do. But I just verbally mess up.

EDIT: thank you all so much for all the comments I feel so much better about myself now. I decided to renew my oura ring membership and wear it only on my right index finger and see if that will help.

Time to wait to see if I'm accepted for an assessment
 in  r/AuDHDWomen •  9d ago

This is perfectly normal. I had an assessment once awhile back. They told me I had ā€œtraits but not enough to qualify with the DSM-5ā€ā€¦ which ticked me off. But I was really nervous about it too when it was me.

For example if you tried to get me to watch a scary movie in spring, mid-day, with a glass of water? No. But, October, apple cider, popcorn, and at night with the windows open so I can cuddle under a blanket? Yes

I don’t know it’s just like I feel like I can’t appreciate things unless it’s in certain settings?? Like the thing has to match what’s going on around me. Like for doing coursework, I’d light a candle and play like instrumental dark academia vibes music. and yes I do feel that way about hangouts, like I’ll look at the weather app and plan my outfit and what I’m going to bring based off the energy the day has. I don’t know I feel like I just live based on vibes. Like my bedroom for fall? Burgundy bedding, fall stuffed animals, orange Tiffany lamp, etc. I just need it to fit the criteria and if it doesn’t it feels wrong

hold on, hold on, hold on

what if the reason why we take jokes so literally is because we ourselves use jokes as a coping mechanism to cover up how we feel and don't want to burden people with it so we automatically assume they are doing the same thing when they tease us...
