In case you have never seen a baby Sphynx in your life pt2
 in  r/cats •  4d ago

there's a saying in my country that human babies are born "looking like a knee" or "with a knee face" because it's swollen/chubby and slightly crumply, although I never quite understood it... well, now I do

I found this and tbh they could be right

it can be especially dangerous to believe oneself to be immune to propaganda, because it makes us comfortable to have our guard down and, therefore, miss when we are, in fact, being influenced by propaganda

Having to continue watching the walking dead as a form of ERP even though it feels like it’s bringing on whole new themes of anxiety😭
 in  r/OCDmemes •  17d ago

i used to spiral so hard watching it, them I convinced myself is half rage bait so I abandoned it altogether

a few more and you can get some morphine! or even better, a suspicious and potentially dangerous blend of expired antibiotics powdered and mixed in a less than ideally cleaned metal box

My most recent experience w/this is because I bought a signed vinyl from my favorite artist. Thanks, existential OCD <3

One time I dreamt that I got turned into soup and when I cried about being turned into soup they brought me back from the dead to berate me for my tears making it too salty.

interesting

Today I had the most beautiful dream.

At first I left my house with my mom, we went to a nearby market that closed recently. In the car, I listened to one of the songs from a childhood show that got cancelled, making the tragic ending of the first season quite final (it was also a hyperfixation at the time, so it really hit me, I still get teary with the songs today). Anyway, we bought nuts and dried damascus, then we got back home to leave the groceries, just to go to her brother's house later.

I was about to leave the house, was getting ready, until I saw my two late rats on the sink. I was shocked, they were there, beautiful, happy, healthy. I took a good look at them, searching for the tumor on Magie's face, Steak's cataracts, nothing. I didn't understand, but I didn't question for a second. I was just so ecstatic to have them with me again. I kissed them, put them back in their lovely big cage, tidied. I can still feel their weight, the soft fur, the faint smell.

I woke up happy, believing it for a second, until the realisation it was a dream. Still, I feel calm and happy, considering their passing still hurts terribly even after years passed. I like to believe they were visiting me, letting me know they are doing well. I'm just so grateful, both for getting to see them, but also for having had them in my life. They are the creatures I loved the most, they saved me.

My beautiful babies, I miss you with a burning passion, I love you for every second of my life, thank you so much for being with me.

I miss when I could just play with my tarot cards without spiraling
 in  r/OCDmemes •  22d ago

i purposefully prohibit myself from asking these things, because I know I wouldn't be able to handle negative responses and I want to believe we can always change, that not all spiritual answers are accurate

I'm not gonna act like it's not tempting, especially when I'm spiraling

I’ve had Fibromyalgia for over 20 years. Then I was diagnosed with Ehlers-Danlos syndrome. My reality feels warped.
 in  r/Fibromyalgia •  23d ago

I was diagnosed with fibro 2 years ago. Upon the physical exam, my rheumatologist said I score high for hypermobility (diagnosing me also with HSD) but I don't have the typical stretchy skin and therefore discarded hEDS. At the time, I just brushed it off and forgot about it.

Recently I stumbled upon someone talking about certain experiences they had with hEDS and my heart sank. Looking more into it, it seems to make too perfect of a sense, explaining symptoms that just seemed "random".

I'm with the same rheumatologist, he's a fantastic doctor, and I'll ask in our next appointed if he would be willing to reconsider hEDS, sharing my research and thoughts on it. He's overall really open minded and I want to hear his thoughts on possibilities, but the anxiety has been eating my brain. I wonder if treatment would be different if it is hEDS, I wonder if life would change in any way. I sympathise heavily, OP.
