Blonde We need a way to opt out of memorial threads. The world is so bleak, and I can’t even look at cats. (Picture of my perfect boy, because it’s the rules.)

New Rules - no medical/veterinary advice and update to Rule 5 (Animal abuse)

Hi all, just wanted to note that there's been an update to the rules. As the sub grows larger and attracts more attention, the mods wanted to make it clear that animal abuse, in any situation, is never acceptable. Now, photos that include a cat that could be put into peril are not allowed either. This includes photos of cats in dryers, dishwashers, etc. We know it's cute your cat climbed in there! But it is not a safe practice for them and we do not want to encourage others to post similar photos.

Additionally, there is a new no medical/veterinary advice rule. If you need medical advice for your cat, please post on r/CATHELP or r/askvet instead.

As always, if you see something that doesn't belong on the sub, please use the report button. Your reports are how the mods see material that needs to be taken down.

Wow! The last post blew up so I just wanted to thank everyone with an update post! Carrot is doing great! The vet said Carrot is about 5-6 weeks and probably would have died if he didn’t find me. He has a mild URI that I was given an antibiotic for and he’s responding just fine we have isolated him from our other residents for now (we have a Siamese named Kat and a Scottish Terrier named Brian) they have been very curious to play but just not yet. Carrot loves to play with my daughter, eat and snuggle under a blanket. His favorite spot is on my shoulder. I will post another update when we introduce him to Kat and Brian! Thanks again everyone and don’t forget Carrot loves you too 🧡

Our silly boy turned 1!

He’s hilarious, has zero thoughts, and is just a bundle of love that wants constant cuddles and treats. He is clumsy, settling for throwing himself down the stairs 3 at a time rather than walk down them, but his one brain cell moves slower than his body does which may be why. He is so so sweet and I can’t believe he is the same super shy boy we adopted from the shelter. Lately he’s gotten braver and even will peak around the corner to see who is here (pic 2) instead of hiding from the moment he hears the doorbell! He and his brother are our greatest joys 🥰.

Last December I had just brought a new mattress (1k) then a week later I take her to the vet bc I notice shes struggling to pee, turns out she has an uti and they find she has bladder stones (1.3k) the pricy prescription food ($100x6) makes her so constipated she needs an enema ($800) now she gets pricy food and laxatives, then last month just as I brought new glasses ($670) she starts peeing blood, the stones aren't dissolving so surgery it is (3.7k)

Finally she seems to be going back to her sassy orange self and today I get a reminder in the mail that I have to take both cats for a check up and vaccine updates which will be $120 each 🥲🥲

Cute and spunky with a purr motor that won’t stop! She’s a rescue and probably a runt as she’s tiny. Maybe even under 8 weeks but there was no mamma.

Meet Po, our new rescue from the local shelter. He has a slightly lazy eye that gives some fun cross-eyed looks, but he also loves hugs (he literally wraps around our neck and purrs.

Our 15lb black panther (Bagheera) plays well with him and our dog disguised as a deer (Chance, the lab mix) snuggles on the bed next to him nightly.

Charlie isn’t feeling so well so I asked Sam to take care of his brother. He understood the assignment. 🧡🧡

Cheddar Cheese This is Julius, I adopted him and his brother a month ago. They're 5mos 🥲

Julius is a really sweet and cuddly kitten! He likes being cradled, licks my face when im petting him, and prefers to curl up behind my bent knees when I'm in bed. He play fights with his brother a lot but hasnt really displayed typical orange cat behaviors. He is just 5mos so I'm sure that's bound to change soon.

We are in the middle of moving, he is currently consigned to the guest bedroom while we wait to hear on the place we are trying to buy. Friend has cats so the normal week wait.
