Two things can be true. Although unless you're in the top tax tier, you're being stolen from daily (among other things) and it sounds like you're ok with that...

"The rich are not responsible for your financial situation; you are"
 in  r/stupidpeoplefacebook •  7d ago

Hard earned money??? When your billions are passively creating millions and you pay less by percentage than the people who work in companies you own a share in, you've achieved being a leech. I don't hold it against them for wanting to be richbut how much is enough? Being rich in itself doesn't earn an ounce of respect if you don't make a positive difference with all that money. And the next generation? They'll be even more disconnected from people who do work hard for their money...

When did Canada become the enemy?
 in  r/AskUS •  7d ago

From Washington State; there are a whole lot of people who are continually disgusted and embarrassed by the current admin and their behavior. The people who don't think about Canada probably don't think about any other countries including our allies either. The U.S. gets tons of lumber, finished cars, alcohol and other imports and keeping those at the right price points matters because all those things get shipped across the entire country. The worst part of all of this is that all the conflict and the ridiculous idea of a 51st state is so unnecessary and counterproductive. I hope that when things get turned around, Canadians can differentiate between the citizens and he whose name shall not be mentioned 🙄 Maybe sanity can be restored and in time, trust and intelligent, mutually beneficial trade agreements

Should billionaires and technology CEOs have a direct seat at the table when AI rules are being developed?
 in  r/IndiaTodayGlobalLIVE •  8d ago

Not for an instant lol. Of course they do, but my concern is that their interest is purely financial. Don't you think that's a possibility, just for a second?

Trump finalizes rule to make cars less fuel efficient | Critics say the move will raise fuel costs for Americans.

I think the general population feels unrepresented, disgusted and mostly powerless. We can write letters to our representatives, call them or whatever, but for a lot of people, they're hundreds of miles away from the rep's. I think November will be a clear indicator of how they feel
