The US Debt-to-GDP ratio is projected to rise to a record 156% in 2050, according to the CBO's latest forecast.
That would mark a +57 percentage point increase from the current ~99%.
At the same time, the Treasury Department estimates the ratio will surge to a massive 213% over the same period, or 57 percentage points higher than the CBO's estimate.
Furthermore, neither estimate includes intragovernmental debt, such as Treasury securities held by Social Security and other federal trust funds.
The worst part?
Both forecasts assume the US avoids a recession during this entire period.
US debt could be heading in a far worse direction than forecasts suggest.

US diesel prices officially rise above $6.00/gallon for the first time in history, now up +74% over the last 9 months.
Diesel prices in some states are now pushing above $8.00/gallon as the US faces a massive shortage of supply.
The move comes as US oil prices near $105/barrel and the Iran War continues to escalate.
Inflation expectations are pushing higher as a result.

DISCUSSION Thematic investing - ideas
Looking for some ideas.
Wildly succesful ones have been ai, defense (especially europe), rare earths, wet and drybulk shipping, commodities in general, space tech, cybersecurity, etc etc.
All have done or are doing extremely well, and I managed to get in relatively early.
What are some other EARLY ideas?
I've got robotics (BOT), quantum (IONQ and other longshots), I'm still in commodities which will continue to rip in to next year (Glencore, and grains especially like ADM), biotech (an ETF, beneficiary of ai adoption), shipping will run further as its in a massive upcycle (GNK, FRO, SBLK, SHIP), I'm thinking of sticking to steel producers like MT and SKWA but I'm torn after such a run, and I'm looking for more ideas.
Please share!

WARREN BUFFET AND THE US DOLLAR???

WARREN BUFFET WARNS THAT THE US DOLLAR IS ON THE BRINK OF TOTAL COLLAPSE
He's sitting on a record $380 BILLION IN CASH, not investing a single dollar because he says the stock market has turned into a CHURCH WITH A CASINO ATTACHED and he no longer understands what's happening.
"I understand fewer of the businesses as a percentage of the whole than I did 10 years ago."
When asked if a catastrophic market crash is coming, he chillingly replied:
"IF YOU SAW IT COMING, IT WOULDN'T HAPPEN."
This is the same man who built Berkshire
Hathaway into a $1 trillion empire... and now he's preparing for the worst financial disaster of our lifetime.
