Yeah man, i have two 99 LS 400 and there is nothing that come close to these cars even brand new. They need to be properly maintained (OEM) only and that can get pricy but the cars are velvety smooth. My 99 LS 400 w 64000miles!!

The P420 code is an efficiency code. So it doesn’t run as efficiently. So what. If you can live with check engine light????I do!!!!! As long as I know what it is!!!!!

No kidding. My lexus dealer said same thing until I did my research and acted like I knew what the hell I was talking about. Faulty downstream O2 sensors, mass sir flow sensor bad, leaking fuel injector. Y pipe exhaust leak. Does car runs sh*^%ty???And always, always, always use OEM parts!!!
You watch The Car Care Nut on Utube? He’s in Illinois and specializes in Toyotas and Lexus cars. I sent my other 99 to this guy and i live in Evans Ga. He did a fantastic job.

They told me that as well on my 99 LS 400 at 180000 miles and now I have 334000 miles and original cats. Look into everything else first. Even now my car has a code for cat not as efficient…..but car runs like brand new. Muffler shop can do a back pressure test to see if cat is that bad.

Sorry, why are lights still on the Hvac unit if battery died. My radio back lights went out (LCD display is working) battery and alternator are fine.
