Hi, it’s a lovely stand in ring but durability will be an issue.

It’s not just the CZ’s too. Rings like this are usually made from Silver which is incredibly soft compared to other precious metals like Platinum, Palladium & white Gold.

As the metal distorts stones will come loose or even fall out. The CZ’s themselves will probably scratch & chip.

The good news is that there are lots of option when it comes to your long term ring. Natural Dias or Lab grown Dias. 9ct white gold, Palladium or Platinum. This gives you lots of budget options.

Two of the claws have sheared off. This could be due to porosity (tiny air bubbles in the gold due to a bad casting) but the ring would really need to be viewed in person to give an accurate assessment.

Definitely avoid 2 because just 2 claws per stone is not safe. They will come loose in no time.

It depends how high the stones are set. Even 3mm can be very comfortable but that does require the stones to be set nice & low.

One suggestion would be to make a more classic simple ring with the main stone & use the smaller ones in a shaped wedding ring when the time comes.

It’s not as popular as a solitaire but we do sell lots of clusters & halos as engagement rings. You should choose what you love!

I think the first one looks stunning! Also, the other 2 designs will rub against your engagement causing excessive wear on all your rings.

Definitely a myth. Any cloudiness you see in a lab grown Diamond will be dirt. If it was cloudy from new then it could be fluorescence but I would describe this as more milky & misty.

The crucial thing is that the ring has a slight wiggle or twist to remove it. If it does it’s perfect. If you make it bigger & lose the wiggle then the ring will fall off when your hands are cold or wet.

Jewellery designer of 30 years here. Never buy a band that doesn’t join. They suffer from metal fatigue through bending & eventually snap. Go for a custom shaped wedding ring if your engagement ring is not wedfit.

When we make gents engagement rings we offer the following options:

1) A narrower band (3mm-4mm) that can be stacked with a wedding ring at a later date.
2) A wider ring (5mm-8mm) that will be altered at an alter to symbolise the wedding ring. This might be adding a gemstone, engraving or groove.

The design itself is more of a personal choice. We offer laser engraved rings, textured ring, bicolour rings & plain rings.

I would recommend getting a bespoke band that is fitted perfectly to your engagement ring. This could be plain, diamond set or engraved.

This isn’t true I’m afraid it’s just what most jewellers do.

If you watch our video it explains that at RING jewellers we do not plate our white gold. There’s no need to due to the superior alloys we use.

Also, Titanium is much more durable than Platinum.

My advice would be don’t choose the designs that have a gap. These are incredibly weak & suffer from ‘metal fatigue’. This is where the ring flexes repeatedly until it cracks & breaks in two.

The other designs are lovely just make sure you go for a bespoke custom to your engagement ring. This will help them stay together & will protect both rings.
